Full disclosure: I am an acquired taste. I'm a typical blonde Orange County suburbanite who says 'like' more than necessary, laughs loud and probably obnoxiously, and loves to dance in the rain. I'm a 23 year old college graduate with more than a few tricks up my sleeve, and I also happen to be a pretty big Ducks fan. Oh, and I'm a writer. Like, for real.

Opinião completa em: http://pepitamagica.blogspot.pt/2016/...

Este livro é a continuação do Stranger . Como tinha dito na crítica desse mesmo livro, algo espicaçou a minha atenção para ler o livro a seguir.

(...)

I stand by my original assessment of the series: it's like the X-men meets Degrassi High. This time around, the relationships are starting to be defined. We also learn all kinds of new information about Peculiar genetics and talents. The ending isn’t the classic dramatic cliff-hanger, but it’s a steep enough drop-off that I’m very anxious to see what the third book brings us.

A good, well-written book, reminiscent of Jennifer Malone Wright and similar authors, this storyline calls to mind Marvel Comic's X-Men. I can't help but be amazed by the volume of writing Heather Myers can produce. I'll read more by her in the future and look forward to the third book in this series.

This is the second book in the Academy of the Peculiars saga and starts up right where book one left off. Sophie is looking to have a break after everything that happened to her in the first book. There is plenty of drama, suspense, intrigue and romance that keeps you on your toes till the end and wanting to read the next book as soon as possible.

Entertaining

Another interesting, entertaining and enjoyable read. Lots of intrigue and many secrets, with plenty of romance thrown in. I just hope they find and rescue Jane. Now for book three!

Okay read.

It is an easy read. Like the characters. A little too simple and more of a cliffhanger. I enjoyed the read, just a little disappointed with the lack of storyline.

This is book two in the Academy of the Peculiars Saga and this book follows on closely after the events in the nightclub and takes place over the Christmas break. Sophie had nowhere else to go and took up Will’s offer of going with him to his remote cabin for the holidays. Her boyfriend Jason hadn’t invited her to visit his family and she thought it was a bit too early on in their relationship for that, so she took up Will’s offer instead, not wanting to stay practically alone in the Academy. She knows she has a boyfriend, but Will is also someone she likes and is drawn to, no matter how inappropriate she knows it would be.

Jane is still stuck in her fascination of her professor and mentor, Nikolai, and her hatred of her fellow young student and already genius doctor Calvin, who wants nothing more than to examine her in scientific experiments of his own making. They are all three, of the same strand of Peculiar and are very unusual in this aspect. Michael, the other physical from the nightclub, is interested in Jane as well as Sophie, now he knows of her rare powers. Nikolai is trying to train her to keep her emotions in hand, but she finds this the most difficult part of her training.

Sophie receives a letter, supposedly from her parents asking for her forgiveness for dumping her all those years ago and asking if they can meet now she is almost an adult. She keeps this secret from Wil, but that may have been a dangerous decision. Meanwhile things are hotting up between Sophie and Will, whilst Jane is getting driven to distraction by Nikolai’s aloofness and lack of visible emotive responses. He puts her down when she reveals hers and she leaves in a huff, but is attacked shortly afterwards and almost killed by an unknown assailant in the Academy grounds.

This brings her to the administrations of Brielle (Bri), a somewhat friend of the three girls, who has a hidden talent and helps to heal Jane. The attack on Jane brings Sophie and Will back early from their Christmas break and the head of the Academy, Ethan to rally his other Peculiars to find out who carried out the attack. Sophie goes to her meeting with her estranged parents to find they are not there, but someone like her is. They take her away and hold her prisoner, but also invite her to a party, all as a plan to reveal the identity and presence of Peculiars to the rest of mankind, led by a certain General.

Sophie may have been the main target, but when she gets away, Jane is then taken. It is a game of hide and seek, with no-one able to track Jane’s mind, meaning someone with a certain mental power must be assisting the captors. Nikolai knows who this must be and has to make a hard decision for the life of Jane, who he is realising, he cannot do without! There is plenty of action and also romance in this book, certainly not like the slower paced first book, which let you learn about Sophie and her two roommates, Jane and Elle, and set up the whole world of the Peculiars and the Academy for readers. We learn more about Michael and his reasoning, the mad General, a close relation of Nikolai and even more about Bri and her reasons for going against her own morals to do what she must.

It left me wanting more and I went straight on to read the final (?) book in the series, Keeper, which solves a lot of the mysteries behind what happens in book two. I was lucky to get to know this author by receiving an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

This is book two in the Academy of the Peculiars Saga and this book picks up right after the events in the nightclub and over the Christmas break. Sophie had nowhere else to go and took Will’s offer of going with him to his remote cabin for the holidays. Her boyfriend Jason hadn’t invited her to visit his family and she thought it was a bit too early on in their relationship for that. Knowing all that and not wanting to stay in the practically empty Academy; she decided to go to Will’s Cabin for the Holidays. She knows she has a boyfriend, but she is still drawn to Will, no matter how inappropriate she knows it is.

Jane is still fascinated by her professor/mentor Nikolai and her dislike for fellow student/genius Calvin of the PhD club. Calvin still wants to treat her like a science experiment and she is still NOT a fan! After the Nightclub debacle, Michael the other Physical (aka The Big Bad Guy) is more interested in Jane and Sophie, now he knows of her rare powers. Nikolai is trying to train Jane to keep her emotions in hand, but she still has BIG issues with this part of her training.

Sophie receives a MYSTERY letter, "maybe” from her parents, asking for forgiveness for abandoning her and asking if they can meet. She of course keeps this secret from Will {eyeroll} but as ANYONE can guess that IS a dangerous life choice!! All the while things are getting hot between Sophie and Will, what about that boyfriend??? Meanwhile, Jane is getting driven to CRAZY, not helping her training to control emotions, by Nikolai’s standoffishness and lack of ANYTHING toward her except put downs when she reveals hers feelings. Emotions be dammed, she leaves in an angered hurry and caught of guard, is attacked shortly afterwards. Let’s see if being almost killed by an unknown assailant in the Academy grounds changes anything?!?

The attack on Jane brings Sophie and Will back early from break as well as the head of the Academy Ethan to rally his other Peculiars to find out who carried out the attack. Sophie may have been the main target, but when she gets away, Jane is then taken. Whoa Nelly … Jane may think twice before making new friends after this!

Will it all work out? Will Bri become a tighter part of the crew? Will Sophie & Jane still be friends? Are Sophie & Will destined to be a thing? Will Nikolai get his head out of his arse?

SO MANY QUESTIONS! Read on friends …

Those that aren't lost can't be found.
After the ordeal at the underground Catalina nightclub, Sophie Harper is ready to forget about everything. She's going to Washington in order to celebrate the holidays with him.
As the weather cools down, things between them heat up. But Sophie is still with Jason, and she can't easily forget that.
On top of that, Sophie receives a letter from her parents wanting to meet and asking for her forgiveness. When Jane Cabot, her best friend, is mortally wounded by an unknown assailant, Sophie must question everyone and everything around her in order to bring her best friend to justice.
Things don't add up, however. The more Sophie dives into something she should stay out, she realizes she was the true target all along.
When she gets taken by a familiar face, pieces of a puzzle start to fall into place. Now, she's not sure she wants to be found.

This is a brilliant read.
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable.
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story.
Can't wait to read more of these.
Recommend reading.

Our heroine is looking for a break after the events of the last book, but her enemies didn't get the memo. Queue dramatic action music.

This is book two of the series. I works pretty well on its own, but it might be best to start at the beginning so you understand the background.

I have read a lot of academy style stories recently from multiple different authors and this one continues to be among the best in my opinion. This one is heavily driven by the storyline with the academy as a setting rather than an actor in itself. The story is very well written and easy to read with a diverse cast of characters that had some depth to them. This story gives us more of a chance to delve into both the setting and characters, which is very nice. The story has several twists and turns as it proceeds which keeps the reader on his/her toes. Overall, it was a fun read and I am looking forward to the next book.

Highly recommended.

ONE INCREDIBLY INTENSE TREAT!!!
Amping it up! Isadora blazes a new trail mixing it up and nailing it down with 100% on point realism, that hooks you from the start and reels you in for the duration. Traversing the trials and tribulations with sharp twists, clean turns and thin lines propelling this baby forward sleek, shiny and tight. Sparks fly as drama, intrigue, uncertainty, danger and suspense surges as tension spirals melding this jewel together fluidly. Distress, turmoil, speculations and shocking revelations, blasting this gem into the eye of the storm, thrusting it into a tailspin with staggering results. The characters are authentic and realistic with personalities and depth that blow this baby wide open and exposed in all it's glory. The scenes are so colorfully described it gives the illusion you were right there in the middle of ground zero with them. Remarkable job Isadora, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.

I initially read Finder as part of the Academy of Peculiars boxset, which contained books 1-3 of the series. These stories are a cross between the Miss Peregrine stories and X-Men. Finder is Book 2 in the series. The drama intensifies, and we see the powers of the Peculiars grow. Along with the romantic elements, Finder has action, mystery, and suspense.

The characters are compelling and draw you into their lives. They make all that they can do believably. Romance is definitely in the air as relationship lines blur. Sophie has to figure out who she truly loves. Jane has a romantic predicament, and we begin to see that Ellie has a distraction of her own. The young ladies are maturing as they become more powerful and confident. There are a couple of betrayals that keep you turning the pages and anticipate the next book in the series.

Continuing the story from Book 1, Sophie needs a break after all that occurred to her so far. But it doesn’t look like that is going to be possible. She decides to spend the Christmas holidays with Will since Jason hadn’t invited her anywhere. Besides, she is drawn to Will and just wanted to spend the time with him. Sophie also receives a letter allegedly from her parents wanting to meet and asking for her forgiveness. And then Jane Cabot, her best friend, is attacked and mortally wounded. But looking deeper into the attack, it appears more likely that Sophie was the real target all along. Where does she go from here?

This fast, action-packed story gives the reader drama, suspense, intrigue and romance that will pull you into the story to find out all the answers as to what is going on! Grab your copy and dig in!

Sophie is looking forward to forgetting the troubles of the past and enjoy her holiday with Will in Washington. She might still be with Jason, but as the weather in Washington cools the heat between Sophie and Will is definitely heating up. Jane is attacked and wounded, then Sophie gets a letter from her parents' wanting to meet. Sophie is then taken by someone familiar and everything starts to make sense. Can they sort all of this out?

I liked this story. It had lots of plot twists and turns with plenty of surprises. Whilst everything was clearly told and explained I did find it a little annoying in places. However I was swept away with the action and developments.

I would have given this more stars, since the story was good, but there was inconsistencies. Like he shifted into his form and his cloths shredded, but then in the next sentence he was wearing them when he came back to his human form. We have mystery, suspense and more. Sophie is still dating Jaxon, but for break she goes off with Will. Jane is still at her professors apartment with him taking care of her and teaching her. She has feeling for him, but he will not acknowledge it. Who is after the girls? Who can they trust? Why would Sophie's parents contact her now? Can they help Jane? Who is trying to hurt her?

Like I said about the first book in my review it isn't one I would normally read but I am definitely glad that I got the chance to because these books are amazing! With the Harry Potter and X-man twist to it. I was definitely not disappointed that's for sure .

I have to say also that maybe I will have to start reading more of these types of books because there pretty interesting and suck you in pretty quickly with all the intrigue, romance and suspense that this book was packed with.

I have to say that I love Sophie she's amazing she's a strong female lead and you don't really see that now a days.

Will definitely be adding this to my re read list :)

Finder is book two of the Academy of Peculiars Saga and continues where book one left off. In this book Sophie decides to spend the Christmas break with Will, Jane gets attacked and Depogare comes to her rescue, but was he too late to save her? There is so much going on in this book and I recommend you read book one to fully understand what's going on in this book. There's drama, danger, suspense, intrigue, romance and an ending that left me ready to read book three. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

The story is getting intense! Sophie and Will change in ways they never expected. There isn't much downtime to connect. Jane is attacked on academy grounds and Prof. Depogare finds her bleeding out. The girls have been threatened but it's gonna get worse before it get better. This caught my attention from the beginning and kept it throughout. I definitely recommend this book. The books are best read in order. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.

Finder book 2 of the Academy of the Peculiars series starts up right where Stranger ended. Sophie accepts Will's invite to spend the Christmas holidays with him at his home and they end up confessing how they fell about each other.
While away Jane gets attacked and mortally wounded by some one we don't know. And Sophie wants to find out who did this. But things don't go well and she finds out that she was the persons target all along. Finder has secrets drama and lots more I cant wait to read book 3 Keeper to find out what happens.

Really good, the ending was satisfying and the plot is coming together nicely. In this second part of the stranger series Sophie has to basically choose between Jason and Will, and find out what is up with her parents. Jane is attacked and left vulnerable with more drama between her and Depogare (which I loved). I was pretty happy with this book overall and cannot wait to start reading the next one in a few minutes.

Book 2 continues where book 1 stopped and there's not much of a transition phase in between. This seamless transition makes it easier to stay connected to the book.

There's a lot that happens in this book, from romantic relationships to kindapping, there's a lot that happens. This book ends at a very interesting point and I'm very glad to have book 3 in hand.

Finder was a very enjoyable book. I don't usually read teen type books, but this one I liked. It has suspense, love, and confrontations knowing youre the actual target, and that itself is terrifying in itself, especially when someone else already paid for it accidentally. Enjoyed the storyline. This is book 2 of the Stranger series.

I absolutely LOVED 'Stranger' - the first book in this series - and couldn't wait for 'Finder' to be released. Once it was, I was not disappointed. It was even better than it's prequel and that's saying something. If you are an X-MEN fan in any type of way, you should read this series!!! It has everything you'd want to read about: romance, intrigue, supernatural abilities, suspense..... 5/5 stars
