From NYT's Best Selling Author, Victorine E. Lieske. This is a boxed set of three sweet romantic comedy full-length novels: Accidentally Married, Reluctantly Married, and Mistakenly Married.
Accidentally Married: Madison Nichols, aspiring actress, is floundering. Her rent is due and she needs a job. Desperately. After getting a tip about an open position, she rushes to Jameson Technologies and meets CEO Jared Jameson. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding, she is put in the awkward position of pretending to be his girlfriend. Not the job she was applying for. And when she finds out Jared lied to her to get what he wanted, she decides to get back at him. In front of his family.
Jared is stunned when Madison announces they are getting married. She pushed her revenge too far. How can he tell them it's all a lie? And when his sick aunt asks them to be married before she dies, Madison comes up with a hair-brained plan to hire an actor and stage a fake wedding.
What they both don't know is Jared's father has found out about the fake wedding. And he's got his own hair-brained plan.
Reluctantly Married: Megan Holloway can't stand her local morning show co-host, Adam Warner, even though he's a total hunk. He goads her on-air until she says things she regrets. But since ratings increase each time they have an on-air fight, the producer encourages his behavior.
When a relationship specialist comes onto the show purporting that Adam has hidden feelings for her, she reluctantly agrees to go out with him--on camera. What starts out as one date turns into a viral dating show with Megan and Adam alternating between locking lips and knocking heads.
As Megan fights her growing attraction to Adam, their popularity increases and ABC takes notice, offering them their own program. Not a morning show like Megan is hoping, but a dating show in which she and Adam must marry at the end. With the promise of a hundred thousand dollars and the possibility of scoring what she really wants, her own national program, she signs on.
What she doesn't know is that Adam has fallen in love with her, and his objective is to get her to do the same.
Mistakenly Married: Penny's gotten herself into another one of her crazy messes. She's broke and about to be evicted. When her online boyfriend suggests they elope, she agrees. Why not? She loves him, even though she hasn't met him, so she blows the last of her cash on a fun Las Vegas wedding. Except, William stands her up and the limo driver picks up the wrong guy. A smokin' hot wrong guy. Too bad she doesn't find out who he really is until after the wedding.
Harrison Williams needs a wife to gain access to his trust fund account. He goes to Las Vegas to meet someone, but there's a mix up and he ends up at the Chapel-O-Love exchanging vows with Penny, a spirited girl in a cheap veil. When they realize the mistake, he convinces her to go back to Bel Air with him to prove that he's married, and he agrees to pretend to be William so her family doesn't have to know about her big mistake. Sounds like a good plan. What could go wrong?
All three novels are clean, sweet romances. They are stand-alone novels and can be read in any order.
I will break my review down by the books and list the respective stars with them. Stars will be shown as the asterix symbol *. Now a word for the covers. One of the covers I really liked book 1, the other two I absolutely didn't like (books 2,3).
1 Accidentally Married: ***** This was so witty and fun to read! I loved the banter between Madison and Jared. Their relationship seemed so fresh and real, nothing fake here. On a steaminess level I would rate this a warm PG-13. I'm grateful that although they shared a bedroom they never shared a bed.
2 Reluctantly Married: ***** I really loved the chemistry between Adam and Megan. They're such a great couple. The witty banter wasn't offensive, rather it was engaging and endearing. I'll admit I took notes of some of their date ideas to do with my hubby! Whole there were some toe curling kisses, on a steaminess level I would rate this a hot PG.
3 Mistakenly Married: **** Of the three books in this Married series, this is my least favorite. I say that based on how I felt after reading it. Yes, I got my happily ever after, but it felt over shadowed by the string of failures and lack of confidence from Penny throughout the whole book. I get that she's a kluz, who isn't from time to time, but she needs a backbone. I am grateful she finished grew one at the end. On a steaminess level I would rate this a warm PG-13. Out of the series I think this one was the most passionate.
I enjoyed this hilarious series, which is a collection of stand-alone books. They are clean and light, and they're totally re-readable.
"Accidentally Married" This book made me laugh. Although there were things that weren't really realistic (e.g. How on earth did Veronica know anything about Annie?), the overall problem of the main characters not wanting to have a frank conversation that would iron out misunderstandings was set up so that it was believable. Even that, though, was carried a little too far. :)
"Reluctantly Married" This is a fluffy, light, funny story. I really like the author's writing style.
"Mistakenly Married" This was a great "escape from reality" book. The characters were likable, the plot was ridiculous and funny, and it was a quick, easy read.
"Blissfully Married" I really enjoyed the previous books in this series, so I didn't even read the blurb about the book before I read this one.
While I really like the writing style and the humor that are woven into this book, just like the other books in the series, I don't love plots that involve the main characters lying to each other quite so much. I always want to shake them and say, "Just tell the truth!" And they finally did tell the truth and it was happily ever after. But man, I wanna shake 'em, ya know?
I liked the characters. They had strengths and weaknesses and were relatable.
And I loved the under the table reference to "What's Up, Doc?" It was great.
"Acting Married" I enjoyed this book. I liked how sweet Rick was with Kylee, even though he didn't think he liked kids. I like stories where people get married for unsentimental reasons and then fall in love, and this one wasn't an exception. I liked seeing how they worked through it and finally came together.
Disclaimer: I received a copy of this set in exchange for an honest review.
Marriages that start out fake but turn out to be so much more. Each book is unique and has great characters and believable story lines. These are clean (kissing and romance) and sweet romances. My favorite is Mistakenly Married - I loved Penny. Highly recommend. I read each of these separately.
It read like a hallmark Christmas movie. I dealt with it and it enjoyed it. The characters were entertaining. The situations made the book unputdownable.
These were fun books to read. I enjoyed them all. Victorine is a very talented author and I admire her efforts to assist other authors to also be successful.
These stories are over the top and not at all realistic. You read these for entertainment only, but don't expect to be drawn in and held captive by needing to finish a great story. These stories are ok with an ok plot. Still it's not a bad read if you want crazy unexpected marriage story's.
I enjoyed these 3 books included in this set. Each one is a really clean, fun read with great "happily ever after" endings. Just what I needed to relax and take my mind of the sometimes dreary winter days!
