These dances were taken from a much larger suite originally for 4 recorders. Style is everything with these short pieces. Brilliant fortes are contrasted with smooth lyrical playing. The ensemble must work together to match articulations, dynamic, and style. There is an optional percussion part which would add a lot to the sonority of the ensemble but is not required. (8:30)
