I first read this book as as young'un at my grandma's house. It's a short, funny story with fitting illustrations. If this wont make you stop trying to play the loser's game called "revenge," I don't know what will.

One of my childhood favorites. A crow eats the corn a farmer plants, which sets off a battle of pranks. The farmer, Mrs. Gaddy, replaces the corn kernels with pebbles and the crow retaliates by pulling all her clothes off the line. Mrs. Gaddy bakes the crow some gingerbread full of salt and soap powder (which I thought was the most hilarious thing ever), the crow steals Mrs. Gaddy’s glasses, etc etc. Eventually, they both realize that the time they wasted playing tricks on each other should have been spent doing actual work.

Probably for ages 4-8.
