Conscripted
Brill Wingfield is just seventeen when he's recruited by a future President to spy on an exchange student's Prime Minister father in South Africa.
But when the daughter and Brill are kidnapped and tortured by Angolan rebels, all bets are off. When he witnesses the death of his young girlfriend, Brill joins with the band of mercenaries who rescued them to exact revenge.

kindle unlimited {may be leaving ku tho}, have read quite a few of this writer's stuff, prefer the comedic ones most but just same as this 4, just not that in to thrillers so keep that in mind regarding the rating. Also can't figure out the order of the books, full list of what could figure out below. Certain ones seemed numbered wrong, amazon and goodreads don't always agree about # or order, and sometimes also named different, so the order below is iffy at best, but best can figure. One can't find at all on amazon, and Shadowboxer Story Triple Action Short Stack - Mission One, Conscripted and Nazi Nukes: a Shadowboxer story shows as Sanctioned.

Brill is an eighteen years old young man who happened to fall in love with a South African exchange student named Laurette. The only problem is that Laurette student visa expires in two weeks and she must return home.
Brill is then approached by a Governor with eyes set on the White House. He knows everything about Brill, Laurette and their predicament and offers to put Brill on the same plane as his girlfriend, in exchange for a service.
While providing essentials for the underprivileged in Angola, the refuge camp is attacked by rebels and Laurette and himself are captured.
The author describes vividly the atrocities that the young couple suffer at the hands of animals, beings like that don't deserve to be called human, with the angst, suffering, anger, rage and vengeance that motivate people who have gone through what Brill has gone through in this very well written book that cannot leave the reader reactionless.
I highly recommend this book and rate it 5 Stars.

This author is quite generous with his freebies. I could wish he spent a little more time editing his works. I just read a short called Kinetic that needed editing every fifth word. Not even the character’s names were spelled with any consistency and often not capitalized.
The present work is an improvement but could still do with a final edit. The subject matter is beyond “R-rated”. Eighteen-year-old Brill Wingfield is the child of a broken home who follows his girlfriend to South Africa where they end up captured by rebels while bringing aid to a refugee camp. Strapped to a table opposite each other they are gang-raped until the girl dies of the trauma and Brill barely survives. More violence follows.
Abandoning any thoughts of joining the Peace Corps or like organization Brill becomes an Assassin for Hire. So begins the Shadowboxer Series now in limited circulation.

Seems unfinished
It seems like they have accidentally published a draft copy. There are quite a few typos & scene changes with minimal description.
Part 2 is only a plot outline with a few pages of dialogue filled in, most "chapters" are just 1 sentence outlining what is supposed to happen.

This was a quick read and a good story. However it jumped around a bit, and left some holes. It certainly had a horrible rape scene that colored most of the book. I am looking forward to more from this character, but wish some of the blanks had been filled in for me.

3-1/2stars. Lots of action that could use just a bit more context. Dialogue is ok. I like vigilante and vengeance stories and this is shaping up to be that kind of series. Hope it gets a little better.
