God’s Daughters makes the devil understand that there is no pulling her into unholy relationships, because she’s willing to wait on God for her kingdom man. She lives extremely confident in the fact that it is far better to be God’s Daughter than the mistress of any man, for the sake of having a man.
She’s willing to wait on God to cause her to be found, and in the meantime, she busies herself in the work of the Lord.
In His Mistress or God’s Daughter, Danyelle Scroggins reminds women who are waiting to be found, to be on constant guard of the enemy who is roaming to find her in emotional break-down. The author brings insight that encourages women to wait on God and ignore the distorted perception that having a married man is better than having no man.
Scroggins show women that it is far more beneficial to take the stance as God’s Daughter, who is created for honor and holiness, whose value is far above rubies, than to submit to the enemy who desires to use her as a side-chick or to cure his lust desires outside of his marriage. Scroggins want women to know that when they wait on God, He causes them to be found by men who cannot only cover them, but their anointing as well.
Danyelle Scroggins is the Senior Pastor of New Vessels Ministries North, where she preaches, teaches, and admonishes the congregation to live a life according to the Word of God. She is the wife of Pastor Reynard Scroggins and the mother of three: Raiyawna, Dobrielle, and Dwight (DJ) Gatlin. Danyelle has an Associate of Art from Phoenix University, where she studied Psychology, a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Liberty University in Interdisciplinary Studies of Psychology and Biblical Studies, and an MA in Religious Education.
The author gave the book as a donation for C Library; however, as I read the book, I do not see this read for the male counterparts at a prison reading this material. As a librarian, I have to make wise choices for the audience I serve. However, this would be great for a woman's prison or jail instead. With that being said, I, on the other hand, am greatly enjoying this read.
Danyelle shares pieces of herself in the writing, and others, to get a generalization of what it is like to be a mistress, prostitute, and engaged in fornication even in the church to where no one openly will discuss it. It is still a taboo or a foreign topic to bring up in such a group of religious folks. I do like her honesty and exposing the falsehoods in the book, also what the focus should be on that she points out on pages 96-97. On these pages, she discusses that the church focuses on teaching about prosperity (tickling the ears of those who hear) instead of how to live a holy life! When we are living a holy lifestyle, we can withstand the evil and wickedness in the world. Furthermore, she states "dead folks don't need money, cars, or houses...but needs to know how to see how their soul prospers by living according to the Word of God (emphasis by the reader, p. 97).
I have heard things like "sin", "sickness", "homosexuality" are cases of a spirit/spirits. I am not sure if I am fully clear or agree with this terminology, but I know we are facing things of the world that is not Jesus intent for his people (or reason for creating us in the first place).
I like her take on fornication; our bodies crave it so why not have it. This separates us from the spirit (Holy Spirit) and the flesh. She further states we take what God created for His purpose and twist it to our liking by justifying our lustful acts.
Disclaimer: The book was donated (or a gift from the author) and giving my honest opinion.
I absolutely loved the truth of this book. I believed if this message is received in the heart, a change will come. I enjoyed the wholeness I feel this message can bring in the life of the lost. A wonderful change.
