The first book of the Ebil Series. While serving as a fighter pilot in the war against the alien Dekarri, Will's primary concern was survival. Now, he's out of the service, flying an armed freighter. He still has to worry about the occasional alien attack, plus pirates, terrorists, and traitors.
The worldbuilding is good, the "good" characters are fascinating, and the story is thrilling with nice touches of humor and romance. The supernatural aid of the dead girlfriend is more "woo-woo" than I usually prefer in my sci fi books, but it doesn't ruin the story. I'm glad book 2 is already available, because I really like Sam.
