Treasure Hunter's Manual #7. There is no better writer on how to find treasure than "Karl von Mueller." The Dean of American Treasure Hunters, he opened up a previously secret world to thousands of people who punched a timeclock, but still had adventure in their hearts and the courage to try something new. Many professional th'ers (a term he coined, by the way) thought he was selling the secrets of the fraternity cheap for the price of a book. But The Old Man always wanted to help others.
Learn, plan, seek, find, warnings, and enjoy! Aside from outdated metal detector instructions & constantly changing property/prospecting rules & regulations, THM #'s 6 & 7 are the founding fathers of every how-to treasure hunting book published since then. That being said, skip the newer ones & stick with the classics. They have everything you need to know!
This book comes highly recommended by metal detectorists and treasure hunters alike. Despite its age (originally published in 1972), there is much wisdom to be gained from Karl von Mueller's personal insights and thirty plus years of experience in this field. I now realize that the book itself is my first found treasure as it sometimes goes on ebay for a hundred dollars and I picked it up at a used book sale for a dollar. But treasure comes in many forms and one of them for me from this book is the wealth of suggested resources for further research. Like many others have stated before me; I will be re-reading this one many times . . . with the expectation of mining out another nugget or two each time.
