A good painter. Painstaking in his approach. Unique working style. Models and realism the mainstay. Though presented in a cropped and slightly abstracted way, subtly. The photographic sequences help us "see" the painting progress. There are moments of mastery throughout his works. His treatment of light and shadows, the chiaroscuro, is at times hypnotic and mesmerizing. Little secrets pop out here and there, causing us to question the entire scene, outside of the picture plane.
