Interesting read. I was warned that it had a slow start and I'm glad because the first I'll say about 20% is a little rough. I think it's a problem with information delivery. It's so much at the beginning that the transitioning is not smooth and flowing.

Once you get over the hump the story flows and you just keep wonder, okay...where is he going.

The synopsis is a good highlight of the story so I will not repeat that part. I loved all the characters though. Once the author could settle down into the story and focus on the characters I felt the story's pull.

Yvonne and William are very complexed characters and I see why another book is needed. In this first book, we barely get to scratch the surface of these two or their special kids. But I LOVE the scenes that showed William with his kids. So much of their future is wrapped up in their past that it takes a while to uncover the story so the book ended right when it got really good. I was waiting to see what would happen when Yvonne and William got together. Both of them can't seem to get out of their own way. William it seem is coming around, he's just blind to the end result. These books with people not knowing their true identity can get a little tedious if it drags out to long, hopefully more will be revealed the next book and they can get started on their path.

I'll be honest, I still don't quite understand what is going on but I'm looking forward to seeing how this will play out with William, Yvonne and the rest of the players.

(I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)

Shadows of the Heart

Step into the middle of William R. Green's world-wind of love and destruction, where all he wanted was to reconcile his marriage before he faced his own death. William and Yvonne have been married for many years. To say that their marriage is on the rocks is putting it mild. Yvonne is tired of all her husband's extramarital affairs and takes matters into her own hands...and abandons her husband and their five children. William has faith that his wife will return to them because of his "powers." Will William be able to reconcile with is wife or will he die of a broken heart?

"Shadows of the Heart" provides the readers with fantasy, romance, and mystical adventures. It was an interesting read. If you are in the mood for romance, drama and a touch of paranormal, this one is for you.

Although this is not my normal genre, I really enjoyed this book. From witches to spirits to bible verses, this book had a little of everything in it. I am looking forward to reading the sequel because I have to know what happens next to the characters. Kudos to the author for this well written and interesting story!

Shadows of the Heart started off with a lack of intensity but once the story line developed the pages began to flow. I was intrigued with the different aspects of the bible he placed in the book. The whole concept was original with the main character being a angel. It described somethings in revelations and the ending of the world. But not in a scary sense. The romance between the characters were genuine. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen as the story climaxed. Although it wasn't my typical genre I would pick up, I would consider reading another one of his works. I think it was a okay start for Lord Williams

Shadows of the Heart is quite different from other novels I have read. It definetly was interesting, and well written. Lord Williams sure knows how to keep a reader's interest. You'll have a hard time putting the book down just to find out what happens in the end. The only thing is now I can't wait to read the sequel A Stem Full of Thorns to actually find out how it all ends.
