The story is of a child imagining the different types of Halloween monster he/she could be. Excerpt: "If I were a Halloween monster, I might be a witch casting spells. I'd hiss and I'd spit and I'd cackle while brewing stinky smells."

Half of the words on each page spread are printed forwards and the last half are printed backwards so that they need to be read in the mirror. Each page spread also has a different mask. The masks are well-made and well-illustrated. Kids can look through the eye holes in the masks to see what they would look like as a witch, werewolf, vampire, etc. and to read the backwards text.
