Magnolia Quinn helped capture Polidor Tyrrel and now her job is finished. Justin can take his mysteries and his desire to be with Hesper Rotherham and leave her alone. She couldn’t stand to be around him when he loves another. Besides, Father has brought another to her attention. Then the puppet arrives and she is pulled back in. Justin Blakemoor is enjoying his time with Magnolia, even if she wants to quit as the fun is just beginning. And now there is someone else—one who is titled, one who can take Magnolia from him. But he knows how to keep her attention—bring her in on another mystery. There is only one problem, she’s invited her friend to participate and he has a castle. Murder, fire, theft? Is the Castle of Odell cursed or do Justin and Miss Quinn have a problem controlling those they bring into their little game? It seems the puppet isn't the only one who needs to be controlled.
So dumb. There is no sense to anything anyone does in this story.
I was willing to overlook an unmarried female traipsing around with a male in regency era in the first book. But this one takes the cake in terms of sheer stupidity.
I couldn't quit reading. This is well written and I love the characters . I am so into this mystery and can't wait to read the next book as they solve another case.
