Based on interviews with long time residents of Telluride, Colorado and those growing up in the early 20th century. The book is organized by themes such as mining, education, pastimes, etc. with appropriate quotes taken from interviews. Sometimes the quote gives a clear picture and some times they are only one or two sentences. The latter leaves me wondering why they were included. I believe it would have been more readable if interviews from one person at a time we’re presented. Some of these people were real characters and great storytellers.

If I had not been keenly interested in the areas history I probably would not have finished the book because of the format. But, I bought it, I read it.
