Clearly written and extremely useful to anyone who wishes to become aware of some of the nuances of the Epistle of James. A guide for those who wish to comprehend the depths of this part of the Christian faith and religion.
Kent has become a favorite NT commentary author of mine. He has a way of simplifying difficult phrases, explaining the big picture, and making it all applicable. This book earned its place in my library.
A conservative and fairly thorough commentary on the New Testament book of James. Since the author does delve quite frequently into the underlying Greek text, including verbs, their tenses, and other factors of the original language, this is probably not a book for the average layman but more for the pastor and/or experienced Sunday school teacher. One issue I did not care for (which I have not noticed in this authors other commentaries that I have read) is the repeated criticisms of the King James version. Knowing what I know of those translators in 1611, I trust them. The 400 year history of the KJV speaks for itself. 2 1/2 stars.
