Silence was the only thing that agent Armstrong could feel as she walked through the woods with her gun held in position, ready to kill anything or anyone who tried to come in her way. The night was so cold to the point that she breathed out misty breath each and every time she exhaled.

The kind of feeling was chilling as though death was looming all over her shoulders looking for the perfect time to strike. She could feel as though her knees were knocking and her lower belly exploding with tension as she cautiously walked through the woods in the dead of the night. Then all of a sudden, a flood light was lit and directed to her, causing her to panic and fire away a couple of rounds.

It was then that she saw the bus full of children screaming as the fire from the explosive engulfed the bus. It was one of those moments that she would never forget no matter how hard she tried. Tears of regret fell down her cheeks and she didn’t even bother wiping them off. Even to this day, agent Armstrong still blamed herself for everything that happened on that day which was such a bad thing since it affected her performance in the field.

As as soon as she dropped her guard, a figure moved from behind the trees and stuck a knife in her back, pushing it until the pointy edge appeared on the front. And as she fell on the leafy ground trying to catch her breath, agent Armstrong turned and tried to catch a glimpse of the person who had killed her. It was none other than the corpse of Mrs. Ali!!!

“You have failed me!!” she kept on saying over and over again.

This was a cute small series of short stories. I liked the subtle twists and the manner in which the pieces fit. Good characters and relations through out.
