Read because it was part of the werebabies set and the authors name was the only one that was familiar so i chose to read it first.
If this is the level of the other stories i highly doubt ill be reading the other 9? books. Theyre all by different authors and standalone.
The only thing in common is a supernatural dude knocks up a usually human female.
Very insta family stuff hard to get wrong tbh if youre a fan of it - which i am but this book just ugh im disappointed.
This one idk what she was aiming for vibe wise or romance wise but it legit missed the mark on all of them. Its so hard to pin down this story. Its not romantic not sweet not smutty imo theres no connection between the two leads and frankly the dude is about as undesirable as one can be it felt like a lot of tell not show a lot of too stupid to live and a lot of in the head monologue stuff.
Like theres so many logic flaws to the story that even if i discounted the shit romance or whatever youd call it and all the other drama that i woulsnt even be able to say well at least the story was interesting etc.
Like im sorry i hate leaving negative reviews and i try to find something good about all books but this this was just god awful. The fact that i managed to finish it is a compliment to me to be honest.
It was all of the place the characters were all shit ALL of them. Minus the baby which was an accessory to the entire story since its a newborn a besides like the baby got fed etc there was fuck all relating the the kid besides the whole people want to kill him and the mother because they do?
I think the cherry on top of the shit sundae is the fact that this ancient vamp dude whos apparently mega rich is apparently so lacking in foresight and resources when his character should by all accounts be amazing at such things literally was more useless than a human dude would be. ALSO ITS A BOOK WITH A VAMP DUDE. And yet no blood drinking or any mention of him eating ya know the elephant in the room. And the closest you got to any mention of blood or vampires being vampires besides hints of classic vamp lore is seeing a bad vamp like adjacent to what might be blood but who knows since its from a distance... like...wtf.
Idk this isnt even good enough to be a rough draft its like someone word vomiting ideas and then istead of picking bits and ditching bits and assembling a story thats cohesive and idk half decent they just published it as is.
Like is this super old or like did the author choose their shittest story to put in the set like sis they not care i just idk like dont read this honestly. Its annoying. Theres nothing good about it. Nothing honestly.
Like i dont even have the energy to list all the shit. Its all of it. Like if i had a physical copy it wouldnt not only not pain me to use it for fueling a fire but it would being me joy. Than reading the book which sucked what little joy i had before reading it...
Now to see why i recognised the authors name and if whatever books ive already read of hers were rated because fuck.
Sorry but this story could have been so much more. The author puts too much character debating on one subject (like I slid through 3 windows of my kindle and subject was still debating) and not enough information in other areas. There was a short blip of how ugly her family was and how they treated her but nothing else. I skimmed through most of the story and didn't miss anything. The battle was good but that's at the end. I wouldn't recommend this at all.
This could have turned into a series. This could have had a better hea. This could have been longer. This could have had the H and h showing this amazing love, but it didn't.
This was such a good book. I fell in love with the sample and could not wait to get into the full book. I finished it in about 2-4 hours. I could not stop I was so hooked on it. Such amazing writing. I think if you like these types of books you will definitely be adding this to your favorites!
Amazing premise: woman has a one night stand with a vampire (of course she doesn't know he's a vampire.) Gets pregnant and whatever else happens. Cool. Interesting. It all fell flat for me. I didn't even get far, before I became bored outta my mind. Shame.
I kept reading hoping the story would get better. It had a good idea but it needed a better heroine and hero. It needed something more to the story. It needed a better final chapter. Would Victor get to be the father to his son?
Not at all what I expected, and I've read many of Samantha Snow's books. This was just on another level. I felt that there was some missed opportunities with this story, overall. Generally speaking not a bad storyline.
This maybe the first book I have read by this author. Strange unlike other paranormal books which flowed allowing a reader to connect. I found myself skipping around 80% through because it read the same. There was an event, a description of why, what, or some other nonsense. Moving on to another event. Author didn't describe what Victor does when not with Blake and Shawna. This book says nothing about when Victor eats, what he eats, and why? Why won't he change Shawna? I was left with more questions and the sex was mediocre. Just when the author was ramping up the sex description boom she was done.
Spawn of the vampire by Samantha Snow. Shawna has a one night stand with victor and then never see him again until one night after she's had his baby. He tells her she and his child are in danger and they after to run. Victor tell shawna he's a very powerful vampire that has a miracle child that is almost impossible to do. The only way to save him is to put holy water in his head from the old church Baptist font. I really liked this story but it really had a almost depressing ending. No real HEA which is what I want to real satisfied at a end of a book. Sexy scenes and really good fighting between vampires but gutted didn't have a better HEA.
Plenty of action packed moments, sensitivity, sensuality and emotionally charged storyline together with terrific characters. Only complaint is that I wished they could have been together as a more conventional family than they ended up being but loved how strong their love was for each other and their child. So ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND YOU PICK UP AND ENJOY IT TOO! I'm going to check out her other books as I ABSOLUTELY ENJOYED READING THIS WONDERFULLY ENJOYABLE BOOK!
I love this story line. The story of a vampire procreation that hardly every happens. So it was a great way the true love is the way to create a love child. Victor was an ancient vampire when he found Shawna in a club one night, they were both just looking for a good time. Except something felt different for the both of them. Neither one was sure what it was but the were both willing to give whatever it w as s a try. The reason I didn't give it Five stars was he, lives forever and so does his sun but what about his true love did I just miss that part
I didn't love the story but I didn't hate it. A vampire has a one night stand with a human and she get pregnant. That means they love each other per ancient text. But Victor is being hunted which puts them at risk. So instead of staying he runs so. 9 months or so later Victor returns to protect them. They fight and win. I guess I'm not huge fan of the ending. But Victor is a typically vampire that we are used to reading or watching about. It's a good story. But not great.
Disliked how the author would describe the same thought or event 3/4 times before getting on with the story. Because of this, I skipped a lot in order to keep reading the book. Otherwise I'd would never of finished it. Story was OK, if you like waffle then this book is for you. If you are like me, I'll probably will not read anything by this author again! Be warned, as I dislike the writing style
This book was one of the worst I've ever read. There was no emotions, no real story, and I swear it could have been told over a beer in like 5 minutes. There was just nothing in it to make it special, and I hated that the whole reason for the drama was pointless. There was nothing REAL to make the drama interesting, or even to have it make sense. Wouldn't recommend, don't waste your time.
The storyline was very good and Kip you interested in meeting wanted to see what was going to happen next and help was going to end for them both of them.
A very new and interesting vampire story. Not all happy and shiny but definitely a story that grips you and your emotions...and of course a happy ever after........ that does make the story shiny after all!!
Wow this was crazy good. Look how easy it was for her to get rid of Flavus, for all that he was trying to hurt Victor. She fought for her family and she kicked ass.
I like the writer's style but I didn't like this story. It just did not click with me. I will try another of her books. Hopefully the next one will appeal more.
That said, the execution of the work was good. For me, the plot issues kept tossing me out of the story to go "WTF?".
Kindle Unlimited standalone book. Has really great potential. Was a little repetitive and dragged. If it was tweaked a little, it could be a 5 star read.
There were some twists in the story. The characters were well developed. The sexual scenes were nicely written. I'm hoping she does another about Victor, Blake and the possible new baby.
DNF at 47%.... I could not get into this book. Shawna is hard to like and is constantly contradicting herself. First she wants a man to stay home with then she wants an adventure. Next she says she is strong but can't deal when things get real. It's exhausting I give up.
The heroine in this book was a little too infatuated her son. A lot of the book was repetitive and drawn out. It took me forever to finish this book and more than once I wanted to delete the book from my kindle.
For about 95% of this book all we heard was this girl talking in her head. Any other lines that were written were just one or 2 sentences. I just didn't like it.
