Rate this book
Lucifer the fallen angel commits the ultimate horror in parallel universes. The planets of Earth and Eden are mirror images of each other. On those two worlds he interferes in the births of mirror image baby boys. He opens a portal across the void causing the newborns to switch worlds as they are born. Not only does his diabolical plan put them in a foreign world it also results in the death of their mothers. As the changelings mature on a world not their own, they both begin to realize they are not in harmony with the culture they live in. Both have innate feelings of living a life that is not their own and often feel out of place among their peers. Isaac Rooks grows up in a remote cabin about twenty miles from Duncan Creek, a small community on the banks of the Tennessee River. Many things about the world he lives in disturbs him until a fateful night when he is suddenly returned to his true world. His mirror image, Jack Trailwalker has mirrored Isaac’s life near the village of Buzbee Landing on the banks of the River That Sings. When Isaac is taken to his rightful home on Eden, Jack at the same time is returned to his life on Earth. These two men must now take up their true lives. Will they survive the dangers facing them and maybe find a true and perfect love along the way? Cassandra Haman is the mirror image of Isabella Starr. She is a beautiful and pampered New Yorker constantly being courted by suitors she has no real interest in. When her parents die in a shipping accident she is sent south to Buzbee Landing but almost drowns when she falls off the riverboat taking her there. Her destiny is entwined with the life of the true Isaac Rooks who rescues her not once but twice. Their love affair ends back where it all began; in the little cabin in the forest on their marriage bed where their passion is finally consummated. Isabella Starr is the mirror image of Cassandra Haman. She is in control of the International Market in Cornucopia where she finds herself at odds with her inner feelings. She meets the mirror image of the true Jack Trailwalker who elicits a strong emotional response even though she knows their spirits are not in harmony. When he proposes a devious plan to change her families market she orders him out. Not knowing he was transported back to his true life of Isaac Rooks that same day she is suddenly approached by the true Jack Trailwalker. She soon realizes this Jack Trailwalker is her true and perfect love and together they foil the evil plan of Lucifer. Later their deep and abiding love plays out in the cabin becoming the mirror image of Isaac and Cassandra.

As much as I enjoyed the premise of the story, the overall book did not intrigue me and therfore I could not finish.

This is an amazing tale of the parallel universes, Earth, Eden, and Erebus. The sinister angel Lucifer, having been ostracized from Atlantis, moved between these universes and developed a plan to take over all the power in Erebus. Isaac Rooks and Jack Trailwalker, born at exactly the same time on Earth and Eden, switched universes when Lucifer created a secret portal vital to his plan. The benevolent angel Gideon facilitated Isaac and Jack's return to their original universe and Jack became Gideon's agent on Eden to thwart the evil angel's plan. Isaac and Jack were comfortable at last in their original universe, but Isaac had no memory of his time on Eden. Jack's knowledge of Earth was critical to Gideon's hope of banishing Lucifer to the outer darkness.

I received a copy of this book through the Goodreads Giveaway program for an open and honest review. While the premise of this book was an interesting one, I was disappointed with the delivery. The story felt a bit forced, and the ending was rather anticlimactic. That being said, the story line had potential and and the author's writing style was interesting. I wouldn't rule out reading some of the author's other work, this book just didn't do much for me.
