Not gave me this German comic book as a Christmas present: I opened it, tried to read a couple of pages, and it made no sense at all. But six months later, I suddenly find that I appreciate it as deadpan humour. There are still many places where I don't understand what's happening, but mostly it's funny! Maybe my German has improved? Maybe I just didn't try very hard first time round? Maybe my sense for what's amusing has become even more inappropriate? I can't decide, but have already started a second Moers.
