Just when I thought the situation on base couldn’t get any worse… that’s when she showed up.
A one time thing. That’s what she was supposed to be, just like every girl before her. A quick hookup before I was shipped back to the warzone. One last drink from the forbidden fountain before being cut off.
Too bad the world has a vendetta against me. First, the men I lay down my life to fight beside everyday think I’m a traitor. Now she’s here, with that smokin’ hot body, digging into my life to see if their accusations hold.
I always knew feelings complicated things, but saying that now would be an understatement. If I don’t learn to keep my hands off her and get my thoughts in check, both of our careers are going to go up in flames.
Traitor is a standalone romance with hot sex, strong language, and an HEA.
A novel well worth reading, women in the military has always been a subject that people still have issues with today, i am so glad that Leila covered this in the novel. The action and romance was spot on.
was gifted this book by the author. I enjoyed this from the beginning to end.
First we meet Jenny, stuck at the airport due to a delayed flight. Jenny seeks solace in the airport lounge. As she's drinking her glass of wine, she feels eyes on her and turns around to lock eyes with a very hot man. Meet Shawn, he's also stuck at the same airport because his flight is delayed as well. Jenny smiles and goes back to her wine. Then she senses someone sit down beside her. It's Shawn. Minutes later they end up in a locked washroom. The sex is amazing, the hottest for both of them. But they stop abruptly after they hear an announcement over the PA, both their flights are on the final boarding calls.
Weeks later, we find Shawn in Afghanistan and who would walk in...Officer Jenny. Damn! Jenny's been sent to this base to investigate rumours of a traitor feeding information to the Taliban. This is a hot read. I enjoyed it from start to finish. I definitely will read more by this author.
I'm honored to reseive a copy from the Smutpire press and the author herself for exchange of a honest review. Truly honored again!
It's a must to say that, Leila Haven has a natural ability to narrate stories about the armed forces. Both books I read by her, so far, "Hostile" and now "Traitor", are taking place at the inhospitable Afghanistan. A hard world to describe and a place that could never be underestimated, in my opinion. I'm still not keen by military genre, but having read Leila's first book of "Military men series", which I was so caprivated while I read it, it was impossible not to read "Traitor". I couldn't wait to live again all these intense, life or death moments Leila so awesomely narrate, plus the fiery, hot passion her characters always have and love to worship to each other. Never-ever say no to those kind of scenes!!
"There was a sparkle to the man's eyes, one that I bet got him into a lot of trouble all the time..."
I rewarded with one of the hottest scenes, an unrealizable desire, I believe everyone of us had crossed in our minds once or twice, or even some of us fulfil it with success...lucky you...in the restroom of an airport! First scene and the passion between Jennifer and Shaun was indescribably palpable. It was a scene that started as a WTF in my head, continued with a OMG this is happening and in the end, it left me hanging and needed for more and more, not wanted them to leave the room...for indefinitely.
"Just enjoy the ride then...Your sexy body was made for this. And I was made for giving it to you."
Next stop was Afghanistan. Private Shaun Patrick Simon and his troop has a mission to clean cities from the Talibans. He is doing his job as best as he can, but there is an unknown origin stamp over his head. Everybody thinks he's (maybe) a traitor. Their latest missions were been known by the Talibans in advance and they receive big resistance from them, losing mates and equipments every time. That's why the Major asked from U.S. Army Criminal Investigation to send someone to investigate the matter and arrest the traitor ASAP. Good news and bad news at the same time for Private Simon, who kept his cards closed and never defended himself or tried to clean his name when he had his openings to do so. I must say that first, I couldn't stand him when he was so closed into himself but then, he was so smart and self-confident and ready to take a bullet for Jennifer, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt till I found out what is going on into his pretty head.
"She was a magnet and I was pure steel"
Officer Jennifer Ramirez took over the investigation and landed into the camp, ready to solve the matter and make her boss, and the Major, happy as soon as possible. Of course, stepping into the mess hall to introduce herself it never crossed her mind that she would crossed eyes with her unknown airport-lover. Nevertheless to say, this meeting wasn't her only problem to consider at that time! Finding out that Shaun was the main suspect in the camp, because everyone finger pointed him, was hard for her to continue the investigation. Considering to report conflicts of interest and at the same time, to find out who is the real traitor, Jennifer got into a tornado of doupt and deep affection for Shaun as the weeks went by. I liked her loyalty to Shaun and her determination to help him, even if there was a chance both of them to lose their jobs!
The plot passes off a little slow the first half of the story. Maybe it was necessary so I could understand better the characters and the situation they both were into, or maybe it was Haven's choice to keep me on my toes so I couldn't solve the case by myselves (not that it was up to me to solve it). What I couldn't understand fully at first, was why Shaun had the traitor mark. There weren't proves he was the traitor, because there weren't even minimum references into the story not even from members of his troop or elsewhere. But everyone thought he was the one. Besides, why he didn't tried to prove it and only denied it? I couldn't make my mind on it. Anyway, no matter what Leila's choice was, my thought is that this first half needed little more informations about his case. Maybe few from the second half of the story which had all the action? I don't know! And that was the only what I didn't like...
"There were no winners in war...It was fine to sit at home and see the updates on the news, but it was a whole new ballgame when you were actually on the frondline."
So, I left the bests for last!
Jennifer and Shaun were compatible with each other from the beginning. I love when that's happening in the stories! Not the love, not the liking but the passion who emanated from inside them and warm the places around them. Airport restroom been burned by them but the camp faced worse. OK!! I confess Leila has the ability to narrate the sex scenes like a PRO as well. However, this passion, soon, took them further away and it was breathtaking to view them trying to be one in a place they couldn't actually show it.
Shaun's body and attitude were made to be noticed by any female from half a mile away and Jennifer couldn't be the exception. She was the lucky one who had the privilage to taste him, though! The man knew how to take off and send the woman in cloud nine. He could surface her kinky self, even if Jennifer didn't knew she had it into her and at the same time like it. Furthermore, the danger to be notice by anyone made their moments more intense and sensual than ever been. (sigh)
"To see human beings doing their best to kill the humans on the other side was something of nightmares. It was the terrible fairytales parents told their children as a warning for what could happen if they were bad."
Despite these passionate, sexy scenes which I devoured with pleasure, there were many other serious scenes, which, once again, Leila caprivate me with her detailed descriptions. The life U.S. Army or any other's nation army has to live in Afghanistan's land isn't easy. Not only because they are being away from their country, their families and comfort. Their daily confrontation with the enemy and the "live or die" situations are been through, are the toughtest thing a military has to deal. "Traitor" it's written carefully and fully informative about the complex of the army with the enemy, whenever it was mentioned. I felt like I was there too, like it was real, and that part is the best thing this story has given, in my opinion. Sex and love came along but the real thing is to can feel the reality of these circumstances and, as I mentioned so many times, Leila Haven can make it happen for you.
Congrats for your new release Leila! Once again you captivate me with your story and I wish you all the bests for "Traitor" to receive. And for everyone who read my review, I suggest you grab any book Leila has published and be one of her followers as well. I believe she's gifted and we'll going to see many good stuff by her.

Probably my favorite of the 3, as I'm a firm believer in things happening for a reason. Jenny and Shaun ended up on that base together even though the circumstances why were not good, their love and trust in each other survived it!
The first two books in this series was honestly amazing and I was looking forward to reading about what would happen in this one, I loved the flow of it and plus whilst you read through them you can tell that even though they are written from different prospective it still carries the story on. So for example in the second book they already knew that they had a traitor within the ranks considering each raid that they went on, the enemies were already one step a head of them and in this book it still carries on just that now they're looking for the traitor.
I honestly didn't think that before I started to read the first book that I would actually like these types of books, however they took me by surprised and I found myself enjoying this series quite a bit, so I'm hoping that you will all too. In this book we meet Shaun who is in the US Army and for some reason everyone in his unit seem to think that he's the traitor, however Shaun is innocent but he needs to find a way to prove that he's innocent in all of this. Jennifer works as an officer and she has been assigned on the case of finding the traitor within the Us Army base, however what neither her or Shaun were accounting for was to see each other again after their one encounter at an airport. Needless to say that they both haven't stopped thinking about the other since that time but both regretted the fact that they didn't say goodbye or even exchange phone numbers, so I'm guessing that you can tell the surprise they both get when they see each other again. However even though Jennifer can tell that Shaun's innocent she can't seem to get Attol to believe the truth. Will Shaun end up loosing his career for something that he never did or will they be able to find the person that's responsible. Also what will happen when Shaun and Jennifer are in close spaces, will they give into each other. I seriously recommend that you read this book, the first two were equally as good and this one is too.
This was an excellent book, from the main characters meeting in the airport to their meeting again in the war zone, it takes you on a thrilling suspenseful ride as everyone wants to know who is the traitor in the US army ranks.
"No man had every given me such an indecent proposal before and I was actually considering it. There was a raw sexual attraction between us that had nothing to do with personality or common interests."
"I moaned happily, feeling sated from a hunger I never realized was there."
"Sexy, sultry, gorgeous, intelligent, were all words I would rather use to describe her."
"Seriously, the only thing that bugs me more about the whole thing is that everybody is too busy pointing their fingers at me that the real bast--d is getting away with it."
This book was difficult to put down; visions of war and death, were so well done my heart raced and it felt like I was there. Right until the end of the book, the reader is on the edge of their seat trying to figure out who the traitor really is.
The book was gifted by the author for an honest review.
Received this book through ARC for a honest review...........I have to say after reading all three books as much as I loved the first two book three is my favorite, Shaun seems like a loner though he would fight to the death for his comrads he really hasn't made any friends in his unit, after a wedding he's not even sure why he was invited to, he's stuck at the air port with a delayed flight, while waiting for his next flight in the air port lounge he meets sexy Jennifer a good romp in the bathroom and then his flight is being called, unknown Shaun, Jennifer is with the Military to, but her job is to investigate military officers of wrong doing, imagine how the two feels when the run in to each other on base camp with Shaun being the one there investigating. Can Jennifer prove Shaun is not the one giving info to the enemy? You will have to read to find out, I highly recommend this book, five stars and two thumbs up for book three, absolutely loved it...
Traitor is the third book in the Military Men series but the first I have read. This is a standalone book so I did not feel lost having not read any of the others. However, based on this one, I am definitely going to be going back and reading the first two! It will be nice to know the stories behind the couples that were mentioned in this book. Not only will I read the first two, but I'll be looking forward to upcoming books in the series. I really loved the story of Jennifer and Shaun. There was action, drama, romance, and hot sex!! It was a quick and easy read that I didn't want to put down. I wanted to keep reading to see who when Jennifer and Shaun could sneak in some time together and.... to see who the real traitor really was. *I received a free ARC in exchange for my honest review.*
I had already read and enjoyed the first two books in this series, so I was looking forward to reading this one, and it did not disappoint. Even though it is a continuation of the story, you do not have to have read either of the first two, to enjoy reading this one. Each can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading all three, because all three are very good. Leila Haven gives you a look at what war is like, but it is not too much of it. It is well balanced with the dangers of war, lots of action, suspense, love, and hot steamy sex, all interwoven into a well written story. I received this book for free in return for an honest review, and I enjoyed it, so I recommend it.

Shaun and Jennifer hookup in the airport bathroom while they are waiting. They don't exchange information even though it was great sex. When Shaun gets back to the warzone, he is framed as a traitor. There is an officer coming to investigate. It turns out to be Jennifer. They can't let anybody know that they know each other. This story is full of suspense and has great characters. It is steaming hot and I definitely recommend it. I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I simply loved this book of Leila. It was like I thought, "what more scenario can she create in a military base?" But I was pleasantly shocked to see the way she presented the book, which in every sense is awesome. The plot story line everything fits, and we are left wanting for more. Thanks for this book Leila! :)
Gifted an ARC for an honest review..... This is book 3 of the Military Men series by Leila Haven and definitely. Jennifer and Shaun's story is fast paced, well developed, and has compelling characters. I really sympathized with both H/h for the situation they were put in. there were some interesting twists and turns and I liked the resolution. Good job, Leila.
This was a great series, but I must say that this was an amazing addition to the series. Shaun and Jennifer meet in an airport and have a quickie. Shaun is in the army and for some reason everyone thinks he is a traitor. Jennifer is an army investigator. The characters are nicely written and the story has a great plot line. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.
I received this ARC from Smutpire Press in exchange for an honest review. This book was packed with action, suspense and romance. I loved it. Lots of sexy scenes, but the story was what made the book so good. Definitely recommend reading it.
Got this as an arc for an honest review. I absolutely loved Jennifer & Simon's story. Wow. All the twists & turns kept me on the edge of my seat. Once you start you won't be able to put this baby down. Lol. Awesome book!!!!!
LOVED IT!!!! I loved Traitor, just like I loved the other books in the series as well. I couldn't put it down I read it a day. The story line was great, hot sex. I would recommend this book to all my friends.
Love this story. Very well written and kept you guessing until the end. You know Shaun is military, but wow...finding out Jennifer is military also? I liked that twist. It was great seeing a girl who had the power to make or break the entire story. Can't wait for more!
Really enjoyed this book. I hate war. There was just enough romance to keep it interesting. Too many senseless deaths. God bless our soldiers who fight for America's freedom.
