I'm giving this book 5 stars because I looooooooove to see what new atrocities the world of knitting has cooked up for fashion and this one is chalk full of them!
I really like fabric and sewing and so a few years ago when everyone and their dog was knitting I decided to give it a go. What I learned was that A). I am a horrible knitter and B). there is just not a big enough need for knitted wear in my wardrobe to pursue it beyond the truly awful scarfs that I created. And yet, I find myself constantly drawn to the books (maybe I think, maybe I'll find just one thing that will change my mind...maybe I can be a "knitter").
Then I open it and see stuff like the following images and I am once again awed at the crap they've convinced these models to wear and confirmed that I wont ever put together anything other than a straight line of knit (no pearl, just knit).

good for her, that she is breaking with tradition, screw tafita! Lace be damned! white is so passe'. but knit? and short knit? and if you're going with soil brown why the stark white veil and when it comes right down to it that top 1/2 just looks like the stretchy stuff they wrap asian pears in when transporting them to the grocery store.

come on! Dress it up however you want. it's still knitted wear and swimming in knitted wear is just stupid.

I think they've got the right idea here (covering up the knit swimsuit) but maybe not with Joan Jets goodwill throw away.

oh, hey! hello there. Actually these little ditties might be practical because you know how when you're trying to write the next great american novel in a drafty building and you need to have your fingers exposed - these gloves can help you with that.
AND if you've lost your fingers in an accident, you can use your toes to write it!

hey gentlemen, here's something for you a little beaded curtain to set the mood for the door to your lovely ladies more private parts. grrrrr!

As if this one doesn't speak for itself!

OK, this is just my personal taste, but gak. Obviously, I have no idea of they are technically sound but I can say they are seriously ugly.
