I received A Month of Sundays from Goodreads. There are 31 chapters with each containing an essay and a Sunday dinner menu with family recipes. The Sunday dinner menu for chapter one is Hamburger-Cheese casserole, Orange Carrots, and Hello Dolly Cake. All the recipes are wonderful!

A Month of Sundays Striding Toward Spiritual Refreshment One Sunday at a Time
By Paula Hartman

Book Description
A Month of Sundays provides food for the body as well as the soul. It offers thirty-one weeks of delicious Sabbath meals along with reflections on the need for true Sabbath rest. This book will leave you feeling spiritually refreshed, reconnected with your Creator, and at peace with yourself.

I enjoyed this book very much. It was easy to read and the author is very funny and engaging. Each chapter has easy to follow recipes. I look forward to trying many of them in the coming months. I thought it was refreshing for her to share such personal stories with us.

Paula encourages us to take a day of rest, which can be anything for spending time with family, reading, or doing absolutely nothing. I have to say that since I started the practice of having Sunday as my day of rest and reflection my weekdays seem to go much better.
I especially loved reading about Paula’s spiritual journey.

I recommend this book to anyone wanting a spiritual uplift with some great recipes and some humor thrown in.
