I hated giving 4 stars...

The writing is not bad. I'll give it 4 stars as maybe I'm just picky about the story but ugggh it's a 1 star story. Legitimately terrible premise and so bs I can't stop wanting to drop the rating. Apparently bodyguards grasp breasts within a day of being hired. And are really good at their jobs even if their target continuously gets things like dead animals in her bed etc. oh and he can call her a slut and whore while doing his job and wouldn't be hired. I wish the writer had looked into protection agencies and how they work. I wish she'd looked into lotto winners and lawyers and financial planning. I wish she'd understood that Shannon would have created a trust to give to charities with pretax dollars. Not paid out $400m in taxes and then given away. It's basic and would have made the story better. Ugh. Does this make it 3 stars? 2? She isn't a bad writer she just writes bad? Like literally impossible scenario to happen that severed hands show up in your sink and you're a billionaire and cops go hmm okay go write poetry while we clean this up and leave you w the one "bodyguard" and that's it. Anyway I'm annoyed and don't want to ruin this writer but if she thinks this is how executive protection works or how lottery winners deal w financial decisions etc it's truly not worth writing #2. She could do better if she kept the security staff aspect out and maybe didn't use domestic violence as a trope so farcical that you wanted to vomit. Becca is pregnant beaten by Laurie and no one calls cops when Maurice hits a billionaire in the face in broad daylight? Like idk ugh. Comment if I'm harsh. But I hated this book.
