A great summer read by bestselling author Jenny Kane, Another Glass of Champagne reintroduces us to thirtysomethings Amy, Jack, and Kit from runaway success Another Cup of Coffee.
Amy and husband Paul are expecting their first baby – they want Amy’s best friend Jack to be godfather, but having left London to ‘find himself’ he hasn’t been heard from in months. When Jack suddenly turns up, things seem to fit nicely into place – but his motives for returning to Richmond aren’t all altruistic. He has a plan – one which could put community hub Pickwicks Coffee Shop out of business, and potentially ruin a number of old friendships…
Meanwhile, Kit has problems of her own: just when her career as an author has started to take off, she finds herself unable to write – and there’s a deadline looming…not to mention two children to see through their difficult teenage years…
A warm-hearted, contemporary tale of life in a small corner of busy London.
Usually to be found within range of plate of hot buttered toast, a huge mug of black coffee, and a with a bar of emergency chocolate tucked in her jacket pocket, Jenny Kane spends her days in her local cafe typing away…
Inspired by everything and anything, Jenny combines her past experiences as an archaeologist, university tutor, cheese seller, newsagent, hat maker, and data clerk, with the sights and sounds of everyday life, to weave tales of relaxingly relatable romance.
When Jenny isn’t writing romance, she is exploring her historical side as Jennifer Ash or her darker side as Kay Jaybee (the erotica world’s Queen of Kink!!).
Jenny Kane I the author of the romcom's Another Cup of Coffee, Another Cup of Christmas, Christmas in the Cotswolds, Christmas at the Castle, Another Glass of Champagne, Abi's House, Abi's Neighbour and Romancing Robin Hood.

Our final visit to Pickwicks and it's many characters.
Amy is due to have her and Paul's baby within months and they are desperate to find Jack - who has been AWOL for a few years. Kit is dealing with the imminent departure of the twins to Uni badly and has the worlds worst case of writers block.
This story takes place in London though the author makes you feel like the town is small where everyone knows each other. The friendships between the characters are strong. They are all in different stages of adulthood. Most of this part of the series is focused on Jack but other people's stories are told as well. I listened to this on audio and I really enjoyed the accent it brought me back to a time when I lived near London for two years of my life. I had no problem with the English accent it was something I was use too. The story had a good tempo and pace which made reading it more enjoyable. The friendships make you feel like you want to belong to the group of friends sitting with them drinking coffee in a cafe. I suggest listening to this book in audio because the narrator changed her voice to all the characters making them all unique plus you get the British accent which is nice to listen too.
I did not know this book is part of a series when I requested a copy. Despite this I was able to follow along and picked up the back stories for most of the characters. I cannot say that with many other self claimed stand-alone books from different series. After reading Another Glass of Champagne, I do want to know more about the town, especially Amy and Jack story. Maybe I will go back, and read the other books. The story takes place in London, but it feels like it is in a small town where everyone knows almost everyone. The friendship among the characters are tight. The book focus more on Jack, but it also tells the stories of the others. The characters are in different stages of adulthood, and their stories are all interesting.
In the first several minutes, I thought Anna Parker-Naples is narrating with a very heavy British accent. I was scared that I might not be able to understand the whole book while multitasking. However, I got used to the accent pretty quick and had no problem with it afterward. Another thing I should mention, it's hard to differentiate which female character is talking except for Helena, she has a high pitch voice that sounds like a brat. She does use a different voice for each characters, but they are very similar. Other than that, I like everything else. Good pacing. Good tempo.

Have to say this book was so good! I read a lot of books and this was in my top 5 of the year!! This was such a well written book and the characters worked so well together that I was so rapped up in this story I was crying with them and laughing and the end was like oh my gosh!!! I don't know if the author is going to do another book but I sure hope so!!
I adore delving into the lives of these characters. Their stories make me feel like I'm sitting in the coffee shop, sharing them with them as old friends. I really hope this fabulous book won't be the final chapter in this beautiful world where I feel completely at home. Please Jenny, treat us to a little cup or glass of something else. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was easy reading and I got into the story from the start. I have now passed the book onto a friend who agrees it's a very good story.
