You Never Stop Learning at Bridge

Rate this book
“A little knowledge is a dangerous thing!
This is a well-known proverb and so potently applicable to bridge that, in his classic Why You Lose at Bridge, the author, Skid Simon, took it a stage further, indicating that he thought that a little knowledge is at least twice as dangerous. For me, that is much nearer the mark. During the fifty-odd years that I have played the game, I have continually run up against people who would proudly tell me that that they were playing ‘before I was born’ and yet still bid and play in a manner which clearly indicated that – with all this experience – they hardly know the first thing. I have made the point many times that the principal cause of the trouble is poor teaching but little notice has been taken of that!”
