The Voice of the Pack is another work by Marshall perfectly suited to entertain boys or young men dreaming of who they will become and how they will win the heart of that perfect girl through success in mortal trial. Also an enjoyable light read for the rest of us. Published in 1920, it is blessedly devoid of "activism" from any of the camps of the Left.

The older reader must grant an allowance for a chapter of anthropomorphism that stems from the author's apparent love of the wilderness and its animals.
