The Dozier School for Boys

Rate this book
What really happened at the Dozier School for Boys? Well we may never know the true story but Trina M. Ward has brought to light a scenario that makes sense and satisfies the hunger to those who have been following the news about the numerous bodies that have been found near the school's property. Boot hill is full of bones and skeletal remains that have recently been discovered. There are rumors of sightings of the paranormal kind in the woods near the school. It is believed that the boys that were killed want their story told and they are reaching out to those who are open to learning the truth. The white house on the property is where most of the beatings took place and not everyone made it out alive. Bloody hand prints, stained bedding and the smell of death fill the small building. It is up to a select few to find out what is happening at the reform school. Hooper, James and his other roommates know their only chance of survival is to stop the mastermind behind the evil that lies with one particular guard, Shuman. Will they get their revenge or will more bodies be added to the unmarked graveyard?

Awful..
It’s my fault, I thought this was a non-fiction tale of stories from the Dozier school which was the basis of the recently read Reformatory.
This book starts that way, the author talking about people interviewed about the school.
Then it’s suddenly flipped into a fictional tale of a teenage joy sent to the school after committing a minor crime.
From there.. it just gets worse, the grammar is awful, I don’t think this book was ever proof read, there are spelling mistakes, grammar issues and poor cohesion throughout the book.
I have a feeling that the author of the Reformatory may have read this in the research, and thought they could take this story and make it better, there are so many likenesses in both books.
The difference is, I’d recommend the Reformatory, but the only recommendation I have of this book is to avoid it completely.

Page turner

I enjoyed this book and read it in one day. Based on a horrific true story and was very well written.

Didn't really enjoy this one

May come back at a later date if I happen to think about it. The book wasn't really piquing my interest.
