"Best of Friends" shouldn’t seduce their “best friend” while already dating another woman, only to call it an accident the next morning, go on to date the other woman for months, implying the relationship is serious, then accuse their "best friend" of wanting to trap them into marriage with an accidental pregnancy, then offer a marriage of convenience followed by a quickie divorce, and finally betray the other's trust by breaking the news to their “best friend’s” irate father that he has an unwed, pregnant daughter.
My SIL and I picked out this and another vintage romance at the Tallahassee Library Book Sale and decided to have a book club with them. I read this one first, she’ll read the other, and then we’ll swap. We picked them out based solely on the “vintage-ness” of the covers. It gets two stars for the nostalgia of the cover and time period. The story and characters are… well what you’d expect. I don’t read quick contemporary romance so it was not even close to my taste, but it’s fun because I’m reading it with my SIL and we don’t take them seriously.
