Kyra is a young woman that married the love of her life, Notorious at an early age. After losing her mother and dealing with the emotions of not having her around, she is now faced with the possibility of losing her husband to the streets. Wi ll she be able to withstand the trials that come their way?
Notorious is the son of a well known King Pin in the Midwest. After his father was given a life sentence for multiple homicides, he was forced to step up and take over the empire. Just being teenagers, Notorious and Whack ran one of St. Louis's most treacherous hoods. But what happens when Notorious finds out who his best friend really is? Or will he ever find out?
Whack grew up in a happy home with both parents, up until his father was brutally murdered, and his mom overdosed when he was just 9 years old. After spending several nights in the streets sleeping from porch to porch, he met Grams. She took him in and raised him with her two grandchildren Carmen and Dorian a.k.a Notorious, and the rest was history. But what happens when Whack grow up and learn that his A1 since day one is the reason his life was turned upside down in the first place? How will he handle it?
Carmen is the little sister of Notorious and most importantly the wife of Whack. Her and Whack have been together since her sophomore year in high school. They share a son and have a bond like no other. But what happens when she is caught in the middle of this unexpected war? Will her loyalty lie with her husband or her brother?
Find out who's loyal and who's not in Part 1 of this grimy, twisted, action filled St. Louis tale.
Sooo I can't deal! I'm sitting here like OMG, what just happen. That cliffhanger got me in my feelings and I'm jumping right into pt 2 like right now! Good read and I'm anxious to see what's next!
This was a really good read. It kept my attention from beginning to end. The storyline flowed smoothly and you were able to follow the characters.
The story is starts with the family as of now, then takes you back to the beginning so you can understand why the wife is making the choices she is forced to make. Her daughters somewhat don't believe the situation however they are keeping their eyes open. The only problem I had with one part of the story is how the uncle was an O.G. in the streets but when it came time to do his part, he forgot how to work the gun. That part didn't make sense to me. It starts to get real interesting when the play brother discovers his family's demise and who was a part of it. He seeks revenge and starts to plot how to make his rise to the top.
This was the first time I read a book by this author and I will be reading part 2 to find out what happens next.
I can't believe that Whack would do Notorious like that, after Grams took him in, and loved him like a grandson, and Notorious loved him like a brother. It wasn't like Notorious had a choice in the matter, he was only 11 years old! Whack and Notorious could've worked it out if Whack would've just opened up his mouth. Whack, now, is going down the same path as his father. Let's not forget about Carmen, that's her brother! I'm interested in seeing how this will end.
Kyra, I know is going to be devastated that the love of her life is murdered. I wished that Notorious wasn't dead, and that he somehow survived to seek revenge on Whack. What if Murder somehow got out of prison, and seek revenge on Whack? Manny also was a traitor, so I guess, Manny and Whack were more alike, than Notorious and Whack. I'm just so sad, and my mind is working into overdrive.
Please let someone find Notorious. Whack is wack. All Notorious and his family did for him and this how he repay them. My heart hurt for Kyra and their kids. Carmen just don't know who she married to and she creepin with her sister in law. They life bout to be turned upside down. On to part two.💟💟
I was devasted in the end. The book was more than i expected. The twists and turns keep the pages turning. Now on to part 2. Job well done T Anne. This was a very good read
All I can say is some of those you trust the most are always somewhere plotting. I loved Notorious and Kyra's relationship but Carmen and Whack seemed a bit dysfunctional. What was crazy is how no one tried to go deeper into Whack's past to figure out if they knew any of his family. With Carmen, even though Whack was her husband the promise she made Notorious about his involvement with Black should've never been mentioned. I would've respected Whack more if he had been man enough to tell Notorious where his hostility was coming from instead of handling things the way he did. Steve was right in his suspicions but crazy not to let anyone else know what was going on. I enjoyed the read and not sure what to expect from book 2. I am ready to find out who's watching Kyra, if Whack will find out who Kimberly is, if Manny is really that disloyal when it comes to his family, and if everyone will finally realize Whack isn't as loyal as he claims to be.
This was a great read and it's a prime example of your friends can be your worst enemies. Notorious had mad love for his grandmother and she did anything for him. She had a big heart and took in a complete stranger and cared for him as if he was her own. I felt bad for Whack at first but then he got big headed. Kyra and Carmen were great friends who had each back at all times. Notorious and Kyra were good together. Kim and Carmen hmmmm. Whack is a crack head and I can't wait for them to find out he's behind everything. Notorious paid a hefty price for doing what his dad asked of him. Stebo was no fool but only if Notorious would've taken heed to what he was saying. Carmen has a big mouth and her brother paid for it. Manny is also a snake. I can't wait for pt.2
By the title, it's clear some act of betrayal or disloyalty is lodged into this storyline, however I had high hopes for the main characters as I quickly began to enjoy their relationships with some another. Once a huge secret is discovered, a hate begins to brew between the two best friends that ultimately leads to a huge scheme of revenge. I look forward to seeing how things play out in the next installment, although I can mention this first part did seem drawn out over a large amount of time and was compacted with many minut events.
Very good read for this being the first book I read by this author. Loved the story line. I feel bad that Whack had to find out that his homie was the one that killed his father but I definitely think he Sld have thought about his actions before he attempted to do what he did. Notorious had a big heart and he loved Whack like they were blood. Notorious wasn't your average dealer. He wasn't as private when it came to his lifestyle. I love the relationships that the characters have. Can't wait for 2
After reading the prologue and learning who the characters are you pretty much know what's going to happen to a main character. Thaat ckukd have been shorter and less detailee. Didn't really find much anticipation in the story flow, it's like this happened then that happen to make this happen. Some of the sound effects could have been left out being that it then stated what happen. This story just didn't give that umph. I just could wrapped my head around this one.
Ok so I'll start by saying I can't stand how a guy claims to love a women then when he's out at with the fellas thinks that its ok to cheat. That Vegas scene with the strippers uhhhh NO. I really wish Kyra and Carmen would've popped and two pieced both Notorious and Whack. Movong on that ending though really? Crazy how things played out. Whack really has no chill. Can't wait for the next one I know that things really aren't going to end like that.
This was a great read. I absolutely loved this storyline, and I couldn't put this book down once I started reading . I was anxiously turning the pages to see what was coming next. I highly recommend this read, and I will definitely be reading more of this authors work.
The book was an OK read for me. After reading the prologue and synopsis I was basically able to know what was going to happen throughout the book. There are quite a few questions I have left so I will be reading part 2.
Like seriously I cannot deal right now. I'm in my feelings man. I can't believe Whack right now. I hope Notorious okay. Manny and Whack gotta go! This was a good a$$ read and I can't wait to hop on part 2. I guess I gotta new fave lol
It's ok, it just keep jumping all over the place. I hope part 2 is easier to grasp. The characters were great I just feel the story was a bit predictable and scattered !
