Women's Home DIY: Fix-it and Finish-it Manual
Presented in a contemporary, fashionable style (not too much pink, but certainly a bit) and written in a chatty way (with the occasional "man" joke), the Women's Home DIY Manual will give all the girls the information they need for general household DIY. In true Haynes style, there is clear step-by-step photography and easy-to-follow instructions, with difficulty ratings for each project.

As a novice of all things DIY, I wanted to learn some quick tricks to help me doing things in the house without having to pay someone to come in and do these jobs.
The tasks that it covered were all straightforward and even though I wouldn’t attempt doing some myself; electrics or flooring, I found some of the information useful but also quite patronising.
To hang up a picture, it says to get your husband/partner to hold up the frame and then let them get back to the tv, patronising for myself and for my husband.
If you can ignore the patronising tone you can pick up some tips for doing diy.

I thought the explanations for some things weren't very clear but that might just be me, probably easier to learn through a course than through a book although good for the basics.
