Vanessa Hunt is the co-author of the book 'Life in Season: Celebrate the Moments That Fill Your Heart and Home', released in October of 2016. She and her sister founded the lifestyle website At the Picket Fence where they hope women of all ages and stages will feel folded into a community. Vanessa writes and creates from her home in Oregon which she shares with her husband and two children and while she doesn’t hug trees very often she does take her coffee very seriously. She is a regular guest on local television as well as a speaker at women's gatherings. She has been featured in a variety of magazines including Better Homes and Gardens, Good Housekeeping and Redbook.
I expected this to be a book filled with decorating tips. It's actually more of a Bible study with instructions for handmade craft projects and a couple of simple recipes. It's a nice book for Christian women seeking a deeper walk in their faith and on that basis I would give it 3 stars. But, in my opinion, the description does not properly state what this book actually is so because of that I'm only giving it 2 stars.
I have loved following Vanessa Hunt and Heather Patterson on their blog At The Picket Fence, and when their book released, I knew I would be blessed by their words.
Life in Season is the type of book you keep on your coffee table to constantly refer to during the changing of the seasons. The recipes, home decor DIY projects, and insightfully soulful devotions warmed and inspired my heart.
Vanessa and Heather weave refreshing and authentic stories of faith and home-life while artfully showcasing their gift of helping the ‘entertaining-challenged’ like myself to embrace the imperfectly beautiful art of community and hospitality.
I cannot recommend this book enough. This well-written book will be a go-to gift for my newly married and new mom friends. There is nothing better than reading a book that celebrates the beauty of home-life that is centered around Jesus Christ.
