Somewhat more coherent than the works of Erich von Daniken, but no less completely dependent upon false research and a lack of citations. I will say that at least Mr. von Daniken cited his work - even if his citations were just as farcical.

The end of this book goes completely off the rails as it ventures into the land of contemporary sightings and alien abductions as "proof" of the ancient astronaut theory.

The author seems absolutely convinced of two things: evolution is completely absurd, and all civilizations sprung up completely overnight. Thus, his conclusion - that aliens interfered with Humanity - must be true. And sadly, I feel that he preys on those who believe in the sensationalist nature of his claims and his reliance upon his supporters ignorance and lack of actual independent research.

Yes, ancient people had interesting, wacky ideas and stories about things. But, so do modern people. Yes, ancient people seemed to do things completely irrationally and illogically in the name of religion. And, as a modern-day Atheist, let me tell you that modern people do things completely irrationally and illogically in the name of religion.

If you believe these things, then this book will further reinforce your beliefs. If you don't, however, you will probably find yourself screaming at the author, as I did, as he pens his predatory idiocy on the page.
