As much as I love these Incredibuilds Harry Potter model kits I hate spiders so I wasn't sure about buying this Aragog kit but it's actually kind of cute, well in a weird kind of way lol. The booklet contains all sorts of interesting facts, illustrations and photos of how they created Aragog and the rest of the acromantulas for the Harry Potter movies. The animatronic model of Aragog used for filming Chamber of Secrets weighed a ton and with an eighteen-foot leg span it was the size of an elephant!
These kits are all easy to build but you do need to be extra careful removing the pieces for this model from the laser cut board. The legs in particular are very long and thin so would be easy to break if you don't pay attention. As far as the actual build goes this was one of the easier models in the range, everything slots together really easy and there aren't that many pieces. It looks fabulous when it's finished though and they've done a great job of capturing the character.
These models make great shelf decorations and are sure to be a hit with Potterheads of all ages.

NOTE: I received this book as part of a Goodreads Giveaway.
This is a really cute, well-put together book about the making of Aragog the Acromantula in the films Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince. Each page has concept art or a photograph of some aspect of Aragog’s creation accompanied by a words from the director, people on set who developed Aragog into what is seen on screen, and the actors and their reactions to him.
The wooden Aragog model comes together fairly easily. Every step in the instructions is accompanied by an illustration showing what Aragog should look each at that point and where to place the next piece. I did have to use a bit of glue to keep some of the smaller pieces from falling out, but for the most part all of the pieces fit securely together.
All in all it is a very good set for a Harry Potter fan to have.

I was fortunate to receive this book as a give away.
The book does what it says it will do. outlines the special effects behind the huge spider special effects but they could probably expand on the details. I believe the Harry Potter fans would be fascinated to learn more about the special effects than what is revealed in this book.
The book includes pieces to assemble a model of the spider too.
I donated the book to the local grade school to offer as a prize for a writing assignment.

It's time again for another double book review. I absolutely loved both of these books, but there just isn't enough to warrant individual reviews.
Aragog: a Behind the scenes look at the Acromantula on film and Buckbeak: behind the scenes with everyone's favourite Hippogriff were both written by Jody Revenson. They were published by Incredibuilds. I had never seen or heard of Incredibuilds before finding these books, now I will keep an eye out and recommend them to everyone.
Each book came with a build your own model; Aragog and Buckbeak. The building was easy. The pieces just pushed out of the board and slid into each other, so no glue was needed. The directions were easy to follow and included pictures.
Now anyone who knows me or has read my blog before knows I love Harry Potter. So these books were going to be loved by me no matter what. Turns out I didn't need my Harry Potter bias, they were great.
Each book was filled with information and images showing how Aragog and Buckbeak were brought to life in the Harry Potter movies. The information was truly interesting, seeing how hard it was and how much effort was put in to creating these creatures was really informative.
The images featured in these books were awesome, getting to see each creature go from page to screen was amazing and having the added bonus of hearing from the movies actors about their reactions to Aragog and Buckbeak was great.
Not only do you get a great little book but you get to build your very own Aragog and Buckbeak. These books are well worth the purchase.
These books are a must have for any Harry Potter fan, I understand that they also have Dobby and Quidditch books available, they are definitely on my wish list. If you come across these books you should absolutely buy the, you won't regret it.
Long Live Harry Potter.

I was so happy when I got this book. Im not a big Harry Potter fan nor less a fan when it comes to spiders BUT I did find this book to be very helpful to what they did with that big spider. Yes it was creepy. It also came with a model which Im not planning on doing. Ill be giving this book to my 8 year old niece so she can read it and make the spider.
