Never Say Goodbye

Rate this book
Sometimes white magic can turn dark. Even with the best intentions.

When Angelica placed a protective curse over her granddaughter, Nancy, in a bid to keep her safe from society and her own powers until she was old enough to understand, she had no idea of the consequences.

It’s October 31st, and a grown-up Nancy is holding her annual Halloween party. Only this year she strays away from her traditional festivities that include her famous Halloween punch, and dancing to the Monster Mash, and opts for a spookier night. She will be holding a séance with the help of her friends and her new Ouija board. Little does she know that the protective curse her grandmother secretly cast over twenty-seven years ago is lifted tonight, and her true powers are finally presented to her.

A spirit is summoned. But only time will tell just who he really is.

3 and 1/2 Sexy Spooky Stars
The title does not necessary imply that this is a ghost story, though after reading the book, perhaps that's where the curse comes into play.
Nancy was born a witch, but her Grandmother, to prevent her from having to deal with the stress of magic while she grows up, curses her - or blesses her, depending on your pov - to not have her magic work until she was 30 years old.
Flash forward to Nancy's 30th birthday, which is on Halloween. Nancy is a normal suburban single woman hosting a party for her friends who thinks 'scary' is Morticia Addams and licorice worms.
The book is short, but moves slowly at the beginning. There is too much passive exposition by Nancy through the beginning that I wish would have been mixed in with the party perhaps to make it more active. That's my main complaint about the story. But when her friends arrive, the pace picks up and feels more lively.
Her friends are introduced quickly, but are fun and interesting characters.
Nancy surprises them with a Ouija board! Perhaps because her magical nature has returned or not - it's never necessarily made clear that the ghostly visitor has anything to do with Nancy's power or not. In this book, Nancy never finds out that she can cast magic.
The ghostly visitor seduces Nancy and she easily gives in quickly, assuming only she can hear the ghost because of her magical nature. Though that was confusing for me, as I thought she didn't know she was magic and it caused me to go flipping back to see if I had missed something. That was rather key to me, was Nancy's magic going to be a surprise to her or was it something she was looking forward to having? So that was unclear and a bit confusing. I wanted that to have a bigger part in the story and Nancy's knowledge of her power is not quite explained. Again, perhaps in later books.
The ghost proceeds to get Nancy to kick her friends out and seduces her quickly into bed. I liked the slightly creepy ghost factor and the contrast between the cold ghost and Nancy's warm body. I was disappointed that the ghost felt so modern and seemed so harmless. Hopefully that harmless part changes in the next book :)

This series is based on a fresh premise. A grandmother/white witch with the best of intentions – who can already tell that her young granddaughter has power - casts a spell to protect little Nancy from a world that doesn’t believe in witches. Truly a laudable goal, but the law of unintended consequences comes home to roost once the spell is completed.

This first book sets the scene, introducing us to Nancy, her band of friends, and an icy cool, sexy hot spirit. It’s a short read, made shorter because I enjoyed the story and wasn’t ready for it to end. I wanted to know more about Nancy and more about her mysterious spirit.

The story is told in present tense, and it ratcheted the suspense nicely. Nancy didn't know what was going to happen any more than I did. Especially the scene with the Ouija board. Those things are creepily fascinating, and Nancy’s gave me chills.

Ms. Bell didn’t end on a cliffhanger, I’m happy to say, but we are left with a few unanswered questions. Two of my more burning questions: Where did the spirit come from? And what happens when you add rosemary and peppermint oil to wine?

I hear the answers will be revealed in the next book, so now I just have to wait patiently… Nah, I’m no good at patience. Hurry, please, Ms. Bell.

Never Say Goodbye is a short read of about 30 pages, which makes it hard to review without putting in spoilers. When Nancy was but a young girl, her grandmother (a white witch) put a protective spell on her. Little did either of them know how things would turn out when Nancy came of age. One halloween, Nancy dispenses with her usual humorous halloween party set up, and instead, goes for the serious spookiness of an Ouija board.

The narrative is written in present tense. The characters are well defined, especially for such a short story, and you are left wanting more. I finished this read with more questions than I started with, but all in a good way, and I can’t wait for the next instalment. The suspense is high, as is the heat … this is a steamy little read.

It gets 4 stars from me, and is well worth a look :)

Somebody throw me in a cold shower please, because this is one hot read! While very short, it gets directly to the point with little fussing. This erotic little read harped on some dark fantasies I've had and is full of intrigue! There's definitely a cliffhanger at the end that just left me panting for more and I'm eagerly on the lookout for the second book of this series. My only complaint is that this book was too short, she could've definitely made it much longer. However, it makes for a nice, juicy short read that I thoroughly enjoyed!

Never say goodbye
C.A. Bell

Be prepared to take a walk through the freezer section with this one guaranteed to get you hot and bothered Never say Goodbye from C.A. Bell is out now. The price of £0.99 was perfect as it literally was a 15- 30minute spicy read for me. Feeling a little horny need something to kick start the motor Never say Goodbye was just the ticket a quick read ready for break times and when you get that 15 minutes to yourself.

Short and sexy this book sparked an internal debate with me when it comes to a star rating it's a 3.5 for me. The book could easily become a 5 star read my main issue it ended just a little fast and well it took me a while to get past the 3rd person writing style, once I did I really enjoyed it.

Although only short this is an interesting concept, witches mixed with ghosts and evil games. There is enough content to reel you into the book so you definitely have to go to the second part just to see what happens next. There is steamy sexual activity as well as some mystery, Is it evil using Nancy for its own benefit or does it really not know? Luckily all 3 parts of this story are written so there's now no waiting to continue reading, there is also the paperback version which is all 3 parts in one book. I enjoyed reading it and if you like something with a little of the paranormal aspect then its worth giving this a go.

::..Reviewed for Red's Midnight Readers..::

I was given an ARC of this in exchange for an honest review.

Never Say Goodbye is short and hot, hot, HOT. I enjoyed this read and it's little paranormal twist! It was refreshing to read something a little different.

It's a very enjoyable short read, that's not too heavy and is perfect for those afternoons you want to read but don't want to commit to a full novel.

I gave it 5 stars.

This is a short story of about 30 pages. Now without giving any spoilers I will say that I enjoyed this book. There were parts that I would have liked the author to have taken it a little futher. The steamy parts of this story were pretty good. If you are looking for something quick to read with some steam and heat this is for you.

WOULD HAVE LOVED THIS STORY TO BE LONGER. WE GET A GLIMPSE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PAST AND THEN THE TWIST AT THE END WHICH BRINGS IT FULL CIRCLE WAS A NICE WAY OF FINISHING THINGS. HALLOWEEN IS MY FAVOURITE PART OF THE YEAR SO LOVED THAT THIS STORY ORIENTATED AROUND IT. WELL WRITTEN AND CANT WAIT FOR MORE.

This little novella was perfectly short and sexy.

It's difficult to review such a short story without giving too much away but I will say, the story flows beautifully, it was well written, it was hot, like H.O.T. Hot. And left you wanting more, it set the story up well and I cannot wait to continue reading more of this story.

"His lips hover at her skin and he hums his delight to her words before kissing her softly. "

What a fun little read. I really enjoyed this book, but wished it was just a bit longer. Nancy is a young single women, who decides to change things up with little more fun at her Halloween party. She breaks out the Ouija Board, and see who they can summon.

“Spirit, are there any hot, tall, dark, handsome men out there who are good in bed?”

And that is exactly who Nancy gets! And if she wants to keep him, she can never say goodbye.

I can’t wait to read the next one in this series, just so I can get a little more information about our spirit.

The Heat and Suspense are ON!!!

This is a short little morsel that is as delicious a read as it is paranormal and sexy! Priced to equal the value, you get more than you bargain for in this wonderful new release by Coco Bell. This wonderful read is full of the paranormal: spells, ouija boards, conjuring up spirits, curses and protective powers. The characters are well developed and fully fleshed out. The plot is quick and captivating. The suspense is fast and pulse-pounding. The heat level sizzling and approaches scorching! Like any tidbit, you are left salivating for more but in this case, you simply must follow up with a cold shower!! I am really looking forward to the next in this saucy, spicy and tantalizing series! Please Ms Bell, relieve my cliffhanger angst and expectations in the sequel!! And hurry!! Loved it!! The Heat and Suspense are ON!!!

This is another quick ‘coffee-break’ type of book. Slightly different concept because there is a paranormal basis to the erotica.

It all takes place on Halloween while Nancy throws a party for her friends and they start using the ouja board. Allow yourself to ‘believe’ and you get taken on a steamy fantasy.

Good short story, first in a series that could prove quite entertaining especially if the grandma’s curse is explored a little more.

Not much else I can say about a very short (about 30 pages) story without giving too much away but it’s fun and mildly teasing.

Thanks to the author and Enchanted Book Promotions for an ARC PDF in exchange for my honest opinion.

I Loved this book. It is well written and as you intrigued from the very first page. It has an exciting storyline, Based on White Witchcraft and A curse/spell that Nancy's grand mother put on her when she was only a child of 3 to protect her from using her powers before she was old enough to understand them. I liked the characters if only it was longer so I could get to know them all better. The sex scene was hot but loving, not at all smutty like some books which makes a refreshing change. All in all a great read, especially If you enjoy Paranormal Romance stories.
