Here are thirteen true tales of men who were heroes of their time, but have since been largely - and unjustly - forgotten. Some died achieving their 'crowded hour of glorious life', some simply faded into obscurity, and a few ended their days in disgrace. Some were honourable men, and some not, but their heroic deeds were larger than life and make for exciting reading.

The best parts of each chapter, where is described the background story to the subject and the final paragraphs to what happened to them.the central parts about the battles that brought them into prominence a bit too thorough for me.(horses for courses) no pun intended.
Another fine book from Bryan Perrett. I am really enjoying his books, the stories are very good and covers many areas that you don't get in the military history books. I really recommend Bryan Perrett's books for the readers of military history, they will whet your appetite for more every time.
