Floating Exception

I am an IT professional … and I wanted to tell our story.

Our story … from induction into the industry, through our struggles and triumphs, our experiences and all the quirky characters we encounter on the way. Our journey along the Bell curve, the satisfaction of a job well done, the thrill of delivering value to our clients, the pleasure of working with a great team and a great supervisor, our resilience in face of adversity and the way we handle the situation … make us a unique species.

This book is for an IT professional … in particular for anyone who works in or with the Indian IT industry (could be someone in the US who has a colleague in Indian IT or a service provider delivering work from India) and for anyone who wants to know the typical Indian software engineer better. And anybody who is looking for a killer startup idea … OK now I am overselling it ☺ but the story has a startup idea, which I have been harboring. I didn’t have the ability to implement it ☹… so I am publishing it.

It is the story of Venky. Does he remain 'Floating' or does he turn 'Exceptional'? Read to find out.,

How's the Bear Story Relevant for an IT Professional ?

Two campers are walking through the woods when a huge brown Bear suddenly appears in the clearing, about fifty feet in front of them. The Bear sees the campers and begins to head toward them. The first guy drops his backpack, pulls out a pair of trainers, and frantically begins to put them on. The second guy asks, "What are you doing? Trainers won’t help you outrun that Bear.”
"I don't need to outrun the Bear," the first guy says. "I just need to outrun you."

A fast and light read.

A good read. Anyone who has been in the IT industry will relate to most of the events. Good description of the bell curve.
