In short: skip this......

This is probably the literary equivalent of "Plan 9 from Outer Space" directed by Steven Spielberg. Long exposition of a youth story (which was good at some points) and promise of a locked room mystery that sort of fails on both fronts with the great reveal that was at times a bit indulgent and tends to reflect personal agenda.

This is also the same author of Tokyo Zodiac Murders and Crooked House. Quite disappointing.
