Diary of a White Collar Criminal
Required reading for every financial professional. Hank Shea, former federal prosecutor and Senior Distinguished Fellow, University of St. Thomas School of Law. This book puts you in the author's everyman shoes, and forces you to ask questions like, 'What;'s right and what's wrong?' and 'Could this really happen to a regular person like me?' It's an absolute must read. Rob Dircks, author of The Wrong Unit In his intimate diary, Jerome Mayne shares his life saving lessons of ethics, morality, trust and humility, with wit and passion. In his 20’s, Jerome was an aspiring finance professional on his way to the top. With his new family and his sights set for success, the world was his oyster. Lured by the prospect of big business, his career derailed when he joined forces with his future co-conspirators in a real estate scandal. The nightmare begins with a hurricane of FBI investigations, criminal court and prison. His journey twists and turns through the psychological collapse of prison and cancer. Through it all, one woman's undying devotion helps him climb back from the hollow existence of defeat, shame and self-pity, to a life of integrity, trust and self confidence. This book is a real life lesson in corporate ethics and a story of overcoming adversity by finding comedy in the middle of a nightmare.

raw honesty
I found the author to be genuine in his self assessment of his life choices. I just happen to be from the author’s small hometown and I had no idea of any of this. That being said, my opinion of the author always has been and continues to be that he is a kind and talented individual, as are and were his family. I recommend this book to everyone as an honest warning of where lie can take you when you least expect it and more so, how to come out the other side stronger.

I had the honor of hearing the author speak at a conference, regarding fraud and its consequences then a great workshop on critical decision making/communication. This book goes more in depth than his talk but still rings true. It is a good book for those of us in government, financial, or basically work a job where fraud is possible. Every job everywhere I suppose.

I really enjoyed hearing Jerome Mayne speak at a conference and his book is great too! Very quick, easy read with a big, impactful message! It was a good lesson to hear how easy it was to slip into some wrong decisions and tough to learn about how much he had to "pay" for his crimes. I'm so glad that all is going good for him now! Seems like a wonderful guy!
