In the epic struggle for control of the galaxy, the Republic's clone trooper armies wage war with the droid legions of the Confederation. With the evil Count Dooku leading Separatist forces, it falls to Jedi such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and even Master Yoda to lead the Republic to victory
After the release of Attack of the Clones, the creator of Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack developed an animated miniseries about the events following the conclusion of that movie. The episodes were only 3 minutes long with only 10-12 episodes a season and there were 3 seasons. It's a great cartoon, heads and tales better than the movie it was based on. This graphic novel is an adaptation of season one of that miniseries.
There is a huge, glaring flaw in this graphic novel and that it is comprised of stills from the actual TV series. This would not be an issues normally for me, but the quality of the stills they use in this book is appalling. Almost every piece of art has a weird, pixelated look to it. It also suffers because the original miniseries is very sparse on the dialogue, so a lot of this graphic novel is literally just heavily pixelated still frames of action sequences with sound effects written out on them. If you read this without watching the TV series, I think it would be very difficult to follow the storyline.
A poor substitute for actually watching the show, just skip it and check the cartoon instead.
I needed a quick refresher of the first Clone Wars series, so I was quite happy to see that this was next on my EU read-through list. But that's all it's good for. The images are horribly pixelated at times, since they are screen grabs from the actual show, and you spend the whole book wishing you were watching the episodes instead.
I don't really see the justification in producing this type of comic. Screen captures from the first season of the show doesn't effectively explain the story. You would be much better off just watching the show.
The presentation is also lacking. It seems the images in this are in fact strait screen captures. Otherwise I don't see the reason for all the images being so pixalated.
