The devil on the bell tower is lyric saga of two clans from Kresy with black humour, ending in 1950s. The characters are colourful citizens of Vilnus, who lived in Vilnus til military occupations, deportations and repatriations didn't separate and make less numerous. The story of an average family starts with the begininning of World War II and ends after World War II, when main characters leave already Soviet Vilnus. Devilish cruelty of the fate of people who were forced by sentence of history to leave family homes showed without stereotypical martyrology.
