This book is about a young girl, Jane, who's parents are getting a divorce. Jane loves her Dad, but he works a lot. He leaves for a few days, making Jane upset, then he tells her that him and the Mom are getting a divorce. Her and her Mom then move in with her Grandma, her Mom gets a job, and Jane begins acting differently. She has a huge meltdown one day, hitting her dog, and then her mom realizes what she is upset about and reassures her. She then sees her Dad again and is happy.

The main theme in this book is divorce, but self-blame also is a prominent theme.

I liked this book and the message, although I would change a few things. It game me the impression that acting out is a way to get what you want as once Jane hit Funny, her dog, her Mom realized what was wrong instead of Jane talking to her.

I would recommend this book because in the end Jane is reassured that her parents getting a divorce is not her fault, and that it does not change her parents love for her. This is a message every child of divorce needs to hear, and is a good building block for the discussion of divorce in a family.

"Where is Daddy?"is about Janie girl and her parents going through a divorce. Janie is struggling with her parents getting a divorce and doesn't understand where her dad is going and when he will be back. Her mom starts to explain to her that she will never leave her, no matter what happens between her an her dad. Janie realizes at the end that she will be okay because both her mom and dad are making an effort to be in her life equally. This is a MUST HAVE!!!! There will be multiple kids parents that are divorced and this would be a great book to help explain divorce to them. I think this book is great and would be great to teach kids how to cope with divorce in a household.

Adds a somewhat good depiction on what a kid may be feeling during a divorce from about a toddler age.

This book tells the story about a Little girl whose parents are going to divorce. She does not understand what is going on and throught the story the reader can see all the emotions the Little girl experiences. It is a sad story but that can help students understand these type of situations better and be more empathetic about it.
