In The Totally Ninja Raccoons Meet the Weird & Wacky Werewolf, the Ninja Raccoons continue their ninja training, learn teamwork, and meet a creature of legend, a werewolf.
The Ninja Raccoons decide to track and catch the werewolf for the prize offered for capturing such a creature. Will the Raccoons succeed in their mission? Are friends more important than money? Do werewolves taste good with hot sauce?
There are more things in heaven and earth than these three brothers ever dreamed. Cats are trying to take over the world; monsters are real; and Chinese food really will make you hungry soon after you eat it. It's up to the Ninja Raccoons to do something about it.
This is the 2nd book in Kevin Coolidge's Totally Ninja Raccoons series. I picked up the book because it had an & in it to satisfy the What's In a Name Challenge. These books are written to encourage younger children to read. As an adult, I have purchased them as gifts and will give this book to a young male who was the recipient of the first book for Christmas. I enjoyed reading this book and liked the fact that Kevin gave an explanation of werewolves at the end of the story.
I recommend this book to parents who are looking for a good present to give to their children or for a book they can read to them.
The second book chronicling the adventures of the Totally Ninja Raccoons is just as silly, just as wacky and just as fun as the first! After capturing (and releasing) Bigfoot in their first adventures, the raccoons meet a creature from the darker side of myth in a book about baseball, Chinese food, an evil Cat Board and a not-so-scary-after-all werewolf. If you (or your children) love stories about friends, adventures and/or mythological creatures, this book is a definite must-read. Of course, you really should read the first book "The Totally Ninja Raccoons Meet Bigfoot" first but this can be read as a stand-alone!
A great continuation to the story Kevin has started with the first book in this series. It is just an entertaining to read, if not more so than the first book. I can't wait to read about more of the Totally Ninja Raccoon's adventures.
Fun book with amateur black-and-white illustrations. There are multiple flat attempts at humor on every page, which is annoyingly distracting, but hey, I'm not nine.
