Jacob Nicosia is the son of the Duke of Gregory but even though he was born of nobility, the disease he has causes him to be a disgrace in his father's eyes. To prove he is more than a walking commodity, Jake volunteers to find his father a shifter to be under his direction. Amidst a war between the two species, there are still those who view shifters as workers or slaves and thus buy them to be used as such.
