What I liked most about this book was how the hero of the story was characterized. He is a man who made a big mistake early, but he doesn't let that stop him from doing positive things, and he also seeks for a way to atone for his mistakes and make things right. i think we can all relate to that in some way, I know I can.
I liked the tension between Melvin and his son, as he struggled to find the right time to tell him the truth amidst his son's bitterness. It was a really nice twist.
