Alex Woodward - thirty-five years old, intelligent, successful, devilishly handsome. Why would a man with those qualifications want to hire a personnel company to find him a wife?

Not any personnel company, mind you, but his friend Caitlin's company. For some reason that Caitlin couldn't fathom, Alec was counting on her to find him a wife!

Well, there were some things a man had to do for himself, and Caitlin wanted no part of Alec's crazy scheme. But the question still rankled - why hadn't Alec thought to ask Caitlin if she was interested in the position?

Heroine has firmly friend-zoned her bff hero for years while he has been in agony loving her and wanting to marry her but afraid of scaring her off because she is such a commitment-phobe. Finally, he resorts to the stupid trick of employing her to find him a wife, hoping this might trigger her jealousy and wake her up to her deep repressed feelings about him. She works in a domestic employment agency that supplies Washington D.C. bigwigs with five star personal chefs, housekeepers and nannies, now she can add "wife for hire" to her portfolio. The heroine does set him up on a few dates but finds herself increasingly jealous by the prospect of him finding love with someone, getting married, and inevitably fading her out of his life and his top priorities.

I did not like this heroine at all and I did not believe in her epiphany of being in love with the hero. She struck me as a "dog in the manger" type which is usually a character trait of Harlequin heroes. The hero was a sweetheart eating his heart out for this immature, selfish, self-centered woman. It would have served her right if he allowed himself to fall for someone else. Frankly the other women he was set up to date seemed way more into him and showed promise to become a genuinely good life partner for him. Alas, we have to be happy that he is happy in the end, finally getting his love requited with the harpy who made him needlessly suffer for years.

Personally, I don't think this will be a very happy marriage as he is way too beta and wrapped around her little finger. She really struck me more as an OW type who is going to pull all sorts of tantrums, continue to put him at the end of her priorities, and finally end up divorcing him for some shallow reason, then trying to put a wrench in his rebound romance with a genuine Harlequin heroine down the road. No wonder his secretary hated her guts. She could see it coming. :~{

Very cute read, about two long time friends in love with each other but unable to confess. I liked Alec, but it would've been nice to see a little from his point of view as well.
Caitlin was a nice character as well.

Very sweet. Two best friends who are in love with each other, although the woman didn’t realize it before.

Good read. Nothing steamy, but it is romantic.

I finished this book in one night. I simply couldn't stop reading it. After the last book I simply couldn't find time to read and I am glad I made time.
