I love art books published by George Braziller. In this series, I have their book on the Giotta chapel in Padua and their Piero della Francesca San Francesco Arezzo book. All three volumes are absolutely stunning. Published in a compact size, they have the most gorgeous color plates. Visually this book is a real stunner.

Concerning the text, it is very introductory. It’s probably the perfect book to read before going to Orvieto to see the frescoes.

A great book to read before you visit the Duomo in Orvieto, Italy. Excellent plates of the frescoes and interesting descriptions.
