Dead bodies are being found all over Miami. Agent Hank Rawlings has had his sights set on this vigilante serial killer for months. When a husband and wife are found murdered, their bodies accompanied by letters confessing their past crimes, Hank and Agent Beth Harper immediately leave for Florida.
In Miami, the vigilante’s actions are on the tips of everyone’s tongues. With the killer targeting only criminals, some of the public believe the man’s actions to be justified.
With the help of a local agent and a familiar Miami Police lieutenant, Hank and Beth must weed through the evidence to close in on their killer. With each passing moment and each new piece of evidence, the killer’s list gets shorter, and the true reason for his murders becomes clear.

I really enjoy it when a book gets to a part where you just have to finish it without stopping. With "Judged", from author E.H. Reinhard's fourth Hank Rawlings FBI series I had to finish the last 130 pages to find out how it would end. Now having read all of author Reinhard's Carl Kane, and Hank Rawlings mystery thrillers I keep finding myself inside each book, and unable to put it down for long stretches. "Judged", has solidified author E. H. Reinhard as one of my very favorite story tellers. As for the story, a vigilante has taken upon himself to investigate several crimes. When the vigilante has each of his victims write out complete confessions for past deeds, he then judges the severity of their crime and kills them accordingly with the brutality he feels necessary. FBI Special Agents Hank Rawlings, and his partner Beth Harper are assigned the case and sent to Florida to investigate. Hank and Beth start with the case of car dealer Glen Scobee's murder. Scobee, his wife, and brother all were gruesomely murdered leaving full confessions of their crimes. The three had conspired to kill Scobee's first wife Leila. Scobee was even cheating on wife number two to make matters worse. Then an evil drug dealer and career criminal, Quincy Hightower was found murdered along with a confession written out as well. The local and national press is having a field day putting intense pressure on the FBI to get answers and results. Meanwhile, the vigilante Tim Waddell, is on a schedule. Tim has been on a mission since his sister was killed by a drunk driver in a black Mercedes SUV. The SUV ran her car off the road, and compounded the accident by not stopping. Carrie was a former cop and then a PI when her car was run off the road smashing it into a large barrier. Tim spent months begging police to investigate the case as a murder. The police however never thought the accident was anything but an accident. Tim was even cited at crash scene for DUI because he was following his sister in his own van. As Tim is racing to get justice for his sister the FBI seem to be stuck without any leads. A very captivating story that was a very fast paced roller coaster of emotions for the vigilante's Tim, as well as for Hank and Beth. Very well formulated characters give this a very edgy feel to the story. The author is very clever at times the way he was spinning the plot. I just got to a certain point and had to finish the novel. It was nice to see cameos from Carl and Carrie in the story as well. An outstanding five stars out of five possible stars for, "Judged". Both of author E.H. Reinhard's Carl Kane, and Hank Rawlings series' are an absolute do not miss reads. I'd highly recommend both sets from Reinhard. He's a master story teller. I hope the wait for a new book isn't too long. They're addictive.
I really do enjoy this author’s books. Reinhard’s writing achieves a good balance between the cop related stuff and developing personal relationships between the characters so readers don’t get burned out or bored to tears by the standard tropes. Actually I only have one teeny tiny complaint about this series & it’s the author’s use of just a single incongruous word…. ”waistline”. Seriously? Waistline? Who tucks a gun into their “waistline “ How about, oh I dunno…maybe “waistband” would be a better alternative. Just saying
Really good! Getting better and better!!! I think the banter between Hank and Beth at work, and learning about Beth's situation, too, as well as treating his wife with respect and love, and the whole 'baby' aspect ~ watching him juggle work and home, yet he's able to compartmentalize ~ simply awesome writing!!. I find it absolutely wonderful that E.H. Reinhard does such a fabulous job of interweaving the parts of a *person's* life into such a compelling story.
Someone running around making people pay for their crimes is an old theme, but this was a fun ride. Lot of different characters working on this and they finally got the team to catch the bad guy. I guess the injured serial killer, Tim, will go to trial and then prison firever. I like the relationship between the different police officers from different agencies. Looking for my next police adventure.
Another book, another serial killer! This guy is set on making all the wrongs ... right. He is judge, jury and executioner. This was a good addition to the series. I like Rawlings relationship with his wife, but I keep waiting for something bad to happen to them. Not sure why. Also, Beth needs to remember why her ex-husband is her ex!
Reinhard manged to write another fast moving dective book. His character are real life people who are looking for a serial killer. There are afew twists and turns that keep ig interesting I like his writing and will continue to read the next book in his series.
This was an utterly forgettable book. As soon as i was done reading it, it was wiped from my memory. I had to read the blurb about the book to remind me what it had been about. The characters were un-interesting. The serial killer who killed bad guys was rather boring and we knew his identity from the beginning of the book. Completely forgettable.
Not wht I'm used to from this author. This book was predictable, no ahh moment and down right boring. I have read at least 3 of his books and absolutely loved them. Consumed awsome, ninth life awsome.
I really liked this book. Rawlings doesn't make me chuckle like Kane did, but this book is much less gory than the Kane books and the previous Rawlings book that I read. Good book!
I totally enjoyed the Rawling's series. I would have to say as good as Kane. These books are pretty hard to put down until you're finished. I might go to Harrington now. Thank you ☺
Fast pace action with unexpected twists and turns. Mr. FBI follows the murderer through his psycho logic to solve the crimes. If you like psycho thrillers this book is for you.
If Reinhard could manage to refrain from overusing "yup," his stories would be fantastic, instead of just good! I could even overlook the occasional grammatical errors .
This story weaves an occurrence that sounds innocent. Clever into the heart of it, & you find a completely different outlook into what happened in the past, & the truth.
This was an intense and intriguing story with many unexpected twists that you certainly won't want to miss. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and author.
Definitely the Hank Rawlins series has gotten better. You have to remember not to compare this series with Kane series. They are totally different in a fantastic way
People do terrible things. Hank and Beth are tasked with finding and stopping a serial killer. He keeps leaving a trail, and they are right behind him. Great read
This book kept you on your toes until the end. Loved the main characters. I thought the ending was a little flat though. I love to read all of Reinhardt books.
