“The objective of all logistics efforts must be the attainment of sustained combat effectiveness in operating forces” (316). A seminal text on logistics as it relates to strategy, operations and tactics. Discusses a wide range of issues including civilian control/command relations, planning logistics, and logistics as the bridge. Still relevant in 2026 despite being published in 1959. I would be interested to see follow-on literature that relates logistics to the 2+1 strategy.
