Sorry, not for me, I found it unreadable. I love Bernard Cornwell’s Uhtred books. But this author clearly thinks they need to describe everything in minute detail.
The 5 pages of chapter one could be summarised as, “The group carefully approached a wood on horseback across frozen ground,having left the Chippenham with the King’s blessing the day before!”

Good storytelling with plenty of characters and a plot with plenty of twists. Gripping to the cliffhanger end!
