Tilly Tennant was born in Dorset, the oldest of four children, but now lives in Staffordshire with a family of her own. After years of dismal and disastrous jobs, including paper plate stacking, shop girl, newspaper promotions and waitressing (she never could carry a bowl of soup without spilling a bit), she decided to indulge her passion for the written word by embarking on a degree in English and creative writing, graduating in 2009 with first class honours. She wrote her first novel in 2007 during her first summer break at university and has not stopped writing since. She also works as a freelance fiction editor, and considers herself very lucky that this enables her to read many wonderful books before the rest of the world gets them.

Tilly is represented by the wonderful, gorgeous Peta Nightingale at LAW.

The final part of Once Upon a Winter is here!!

Specifically, this edition (4/4) sees Hannah embracing her inner Colombo in an effort to uncover what Mitchell's ex-from-hell Martine has been up to. On top of that we find out who savagely attacked Ross, and we finally see Gina and Ross come clean about their secret relationship to Ross's parents.

All the lose ends are tied up perfectly and there are a few surprises (one of them heart-achingly sad) along the way too. All in all this has been a wonderful series, with leading lady Hannah a particular delight to follow. There are so many tender moments, a lot of sisterly fun and even a well-crafted mystery to get to the bottom of. My advice, download all four instalments now!

So here we have the final part of Tilly Tennant's four-part novella series Once Upon A Winter. I am actually really sad to get here as i loved all four parts of the book, for me splitting them up, rather that a whole book made the story that more interesting and intense.
In this last part as we see Hannah and Mitchell get to the bottom of his Ex wife's affairs and his work partner's scheming ways. Will things get nicely wrapped up for this couple?..Hannah's sister Gina and partner Ross now have the daunting task of telling his parents about their relationship, but will they except the age gap and Gina's teenage daughter Jess?.
I thoroughly enjoyed all of this book and how it all came together. Watching these characters grow and getting to know them has been a great pleasure. A perfect conclusion to a great series. Tilly Tennant does it again.

Book 4 of a 4 part book series. Note to readers, you can either read this as a 4 part book series or there is a full length novel which includes all of the 4 parts.

Well this has been a great end to the 4 part book series, very entertaining and full of drama from start to finish, all very well written. I’m super glad that both Hannah and Gina got there happy endings, not that there was any doubt on that score.

There was one bit in this part 4 that took place, re the character of George who played a small part throughout the whole story, well something sad happened to him in part 4, and really I don’t see why the author did it, as it didn’t really have any relevance whatsoever to rest of story, seemed highly unnecessary in my opinion but hey ho.

Anyway despite that it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the story, and to be honest, I am a little sad to be saying goodbye to the characters in this series, as they have all been a delight to get to know.

Brilliant story

Glad to have read all three books. Laughed and cried with this one, but a happy ending in the end for all.

Review

After reading the first two novellas in this series and being utterly enchanted, the third novella had begun to lose its lustre and charm for me. I had high hopes for this novella as I really hoped it would regain my interest and really deliver.
Hannah's problems with Mitchell have just settled down when all of a sudden she and Gina had to deal with Ross's beating and the unjust and desperate actions of Howard, Gina's cheating ex-husband. Then comes Graham, Mitchell's long-time business partner and maybe the man Martine had been having an affair with. But his devious plans did not stop at that. No. Hannah suspected that he was using Mitchell's hard earned money to out-buy houses from competitors. And Mitchell didn’t suspect a thing. With all this drama going on, Hannah still had to battle for her love with Mitchell. And hopefully find her happily ever after...
I really admired Tilly Tennant's writing style. It was simple yet touching and soulful. And when combined with a quiet and gentle atmosphere, it really did make a beautiful post-Christmas short story. The prose was lovely and the author really made you feel like you were in England with her use of colloquial English, which really amused me at times!
Unfortunately, the story had started to lose its zest and intrigue for me. There were times when the story lulled in progression and I would wonder what the point of it was. I still enjoyed some key scenes but probably not as much as I ought to have if there was slightly more drama to the story.
The ending kind of upset me with its vague ending. It didn't really wrap things up for me and I wasn't satisfied with it as a reader. Most importantly it didn't give me enough closure from the story as some events were left unfinished and like I said, it was all TOO vague for my liking.
Congratulations to Tilly Tennant on publishing the final novella in her 'Once Upon a Winter' series.

Rating Plan
1 star : Strongly did not like the book, writing and plot was bad. Idea of the book was against my liking.
2 star : Didn't like it, didn't find it interesting or gripping. Seemed to drag on to me.
3 star : An average book. Wasn't bad or good. Everything else was well done. Original idea.
4 star : Like a 3 star but has potential to it as a series or the book grew on me as it progressed and certain scenes captured me. I Enjoyed it and read it in one sitting.
5 star : I LOVED IT! I stayed up late until 3 am. Author is a genius, characters, plot, idea, development, EVERYTHING was EXCELLENT. Nothing else can possibly be said except that its 5 STAR!

As with my previous reviews, this will be fairly short to try and avoid too many spoilers plus the fact that the novella itself is short.
To recap then, in The Accidental Guest we are introduced to the main character, Hannah, and her sister and niece, Gina & Jess respectively, on Christmas day. All seems fairly normal - banter, gifts, turkey and trimmings, until an unexpected knock at the door introduces them to a man with head injuries and memory loss. Whilst waiting for paramedics, the girls name him Tom, but its Hannah in particular he is take with and her to him. So much so that Hannah can't forget him and darts to the hospital to check all is ok... only to fail. Meanwhile we are introduced to hunky farmer and neighbour, Ross, who keeps coming to the girls' rescue one way or another.
The girls are roped into a charity dance hosted by Ross' mother in I'm Not In Love and this is the first time we see Ross and Gina get closer. Whilst Hannah is trying hard to forget what connection she felt to Tom who we know as Mitchell, he just happens to walk into the party with his wife! Slowly over this book and Ways To Say Goodbye, Mitchell's memory comes back and he realises things about his marriage whilst getting closer to Hannah. Book 3 had an element of mystery about it as a strange car kept being mentioned and was often spotted outside of Hannah's home, however we aren't sure who it belongs to until Ross ends up in hospital!

Finally One Starry Night see's relationships move forward between Hannah and Mitchell, Gina and Ross and Gina and Jess who have had some feisty mother-daughter moments throughout. The series of books comes to a delightful closure, albeit a sad few paragraphs involving Hannah's lovely elderly neighbour and friend, George.

Overall the Once Upon A Winter series is a gorgeous story of love and friendship - there are bumps along the way but it tales a tale of moving on, opening your heart and being true to yourself.

I can't wait for more from Tilly Tennant.
Thank you to Brook Cottage Books for supplying review copies of the four parts.

One Starry Night is the final installment of the four-part novella series Once Upon A Winter by Tilly Tennant. The Accidental Guest introduced the main characters, and their story continued to unwind through I'm Not In Love and Ways to Say Goodbye. Finally, this novella is the long awaited conclusion in which the fate of the main characters will be revealed.

The story is about Hannah and Mitchell, as well as Gina and Ross. Hannah and Gina are sisters, struggling to have relationships while trying to overcome the everyday struggles that life seems to always put in the mix of it all. As with life, the story has it's fair share of good and bad times. At the end of the day, it is all about love prevailing despite the obstacles that are faced.

I loved following the story of these characters, seeing their struggles, and also their determination to be happy. The characters are easy to relate to, and the novella had a great conclusion to the series. I would definitely recommend this four-part novella series. This series was written by an author that I haven't read previously, and I now look forward to reading more books by Tilly Tennant!

I was given an advanced digital copy of this book by Lawsome Books and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I do suggest you read these four parts to this story in order.
Everything builds upon the Accidental Guest who appears at the door at Christmas.

I would have preferred this "series" was done in one or two books but I am grateful I did not have to wait between reading the pieces.
Plese refer to each of my reviews to get caught up. I tried not to give too much away.

At the end of book 3 there is a major development and we are not sure what we will find when the sisters arrive at the hospital. What happened and why? Whose secrets will eb revealed?
In each of the previous books we learn more about the individual characters and about relationships on different levels. I will say that tears may be shed in this final book.

Hannah has a chance at her dreams coming true if she can make Mitchell understand secrets his wife has been keeping. Gina and Ross's relationship has unanticipated consequences.
Will Jess see the error of her attitude?

For everyone who appreciates having a sister, for readers who enjoy small town gossip and friendships, and for those of us who could not wait to get more information and put all the pieces together, this is the book we have been waiting for!

Each of the four parts is a quick read. Start at the beginning and enjoy the escape.

I did receive this book in exchange for review

I was anxious to read this final part of the four part series .. you really do need to read the others first to gain full enjoyment otherwise it will all be a blur.

The end of book three left us wondering who was responsible for Ross’ predicament .. so in this novella we get some answers. Lots of loose ends to tie up revolving around … Hannah and Mitchell, Gina and Ross, will Jess choose her father or settle into her new routine. What response will Gina get from Ross’ parents etc.

Tilly manages to create characters that pull you in and you can find one or more to relate too. I found myself wanting a satisfactory ending for all the main contenders but it was nice also to see what happens to old George, and the exes of Gina and Mitchell.

Great for fans of chick-lit, easy to read cute series, short enough to read each novella in an hour. Would I prefer it as a complete full length book, possibly but this was ok because I was able to read them all in quick succession. I read so many books it would be irritating to have to recall the storyline each time if there was a gap.

I will be sad to see the end of this series but I’m sure there will be another great one to look forward to soon. Thanks to Tilly and Brook Cottage Books for the opportunity to read all of these in exchange for my honest opinion.

This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free for a Blog Tour in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Thank you to JB for letting me take part in this tour. As you are probably aware I have really enjoyed Tilly's other books and I just had to be part of the tour for the last book in the series.

In this final part we learn who has been stalking Hannah, who attacked Ross and what Mitchell's wife has really been up to.

This book nicely ties up everyone stories and it really enjoyed being along for the ride. The characters are easy to relate to and you find yourself rooting for them.

Tilly has a way of making you fall in love with the characters and to keep you thinking about them even when you don't have you head in the book.

I am sad to say goodbye to these characters but I look forward to seeing what Tilly brings us next.

On to part four!!! This is the last book of Tilly's Once Upon a Winter series.

I think the most exciting part of this part was the mystery around Mitchell's business and his colleague Graham for me. What was Graham up to.

The story around Hannah and Mitchell as well as Gina and Ross continued of course and I just loved following them around. What will the future have in store of them?!
And of course I was just reall curious to find out about all the secrets and mysteries.

Tilly wrote a wonderful story once again. She is really talented, especially when it comes to splitting a book into several parts. There were cliffhangers, teists and turns and so much more. The excitement for the next part is really important in my eyes and Tilly did this brilliantly, she kept up the tension and always added another thing without it being too much.

This forth part is a great ending to this story and Tilly once again showed that she has a fresh, exciting and gripping writing voice.

I received this book as part of a book tour. Finally, we get to read the conclusion to the Once Upon A Winter's Night series! In the last book, Mitchell got some answers about what happened to leave him staggering in the snow on Christmas Day. However, Hannah believes there is even more to the story and takes it upon herself to do some investigations, with the help of her sister, Gina. Gina has worries of her own, knowing that she and Ross need to come clean about their relationship to his family.

The series was tied up nicely in this book with all questions answered. I would definitely recommend this book to fans of chick lit and romance! It had very interesting, likeable characters. The pace of the stories was good and I like that they were broken up into short, quick novellas. Overall, this was a very cute series with a satisfying ending.

This was the final of four parts of Once Upon a Winter. It was probably the best of the four and I really enjoyed it. The pace was great and I loved how the relationships had grown as the book drew closer to its end. There was a sad part but it was dealt with well and it was made to really be a positive. The main characters of Hannah and Gina were great throughout and I’m glad with the endings they received. I have read quite a few books now by Tilly Tennant and I have found them all to be good quality fun reads. Looking forward to more in the future and I wouldn’t mind seeing a follow up about how their lives and relationships with Ross and Mitchell had developed.

Have you heard the old adage that "it must get worse, before it gets better?"
That is the case for this book, however it is the last book in the series so we know everything will get better.
You will have to read the book to find out what Hannah and Ross and Gina and Mitchell are up to.
There are ups and downs, joy and sadness, and overall a good ending to a good series.
I hope you like these books as much as I did.

Hannah is sure who Justine's lover is and other dodgy dealings that are going on but how does she break this news to Mitchell.

Ross is badly beaten up and the black volvo seems to be involved again but why is Gina feeling guilty and what has Jess go to do with. The time has also come to admit to Ross's family that they are an item but how will that go down!

The loose ends all get tied together and great endings all round in this lovely series - well worth reading

This final part of the story wasn't quite as compelling as the first parts, especially the nearer to the end I got the more rushed it felt.

Overall I enjoyed the whole story, but wish this last and what I'd hoped to be the most exciting part, could have been more detailed rather than a final sprint to get over the finishing line.

Fantastic

Wow another great segment, all of these books have no chapters and each book is like its own chapter. I would like to see what happens to them and how they all are in the future.

Liked the story line

Enjoyed all 4 "Once Upon A Winter" books. Characters were well developed. But why the weren't combined into one book was disappointing.
