This is a highly fictionalized account of Cassidy's life. It felt like a silly cheesy romance to me. I finished it because the author writes well enough to hold my interest, but it felt so highly fictionalized she could have written a plastic-feeling western and used any set of names. I'm not suggesting she did shoddy research. I'm sure she looked long and hard at the material available. This just felt like a highly contrived romance under the stars kind of silliness.
